November rolls round and Joe beats RJJ in a convincing manner then retires, despite increasing clamour on ESB for him to fight Bad Chad Dawson. Meanwhile Mikkel Kessler fresh from regaining his world title decides to take a trip up to light hvy and ends up fighting and stopping Chad in the 11th. What would the reaction on here be and who would joe have to beat in order to prove he's not a fraud? Before you all jump on the newb saying it'll never happen etc, just humour me
Manny Pacquiao HAAHAHA!! Cause he is the current P4P #1!! All Pacquiao's team has to say is that Joe can no longer pull the trigger!
He would have to increase his Intelligence quotient by 125%, take a degree in quantum physics, build a time machine and go back to the beginning of his career and do the right things from the start. Realistically, in my eyes, there is absolutely nothing that Calzaghe can do now to redeem the situation. The thing about Calzaghe is that he has/had absolutely magnificent boxing skills and could have been a real superstar outside of Newbridge if he had wished. Unfortunately he lacks the one thing that all true, bona fide, champion sportsmen have, a thirst for glory. Taking the path of least resistance is all very well but you then have to be prepared to take the brickbats and not the plaudits.
I think kessler is a great way to prove how good joe is,,,,he cleans up his division, then stay around an strong for a few years, keep in mind when he faces bute, beats him, bute will become overrated, an so on a so forth, we calzaghe fans should hope for kessler successes cause he a great boxer, an if kessler were to fight palvik, i say he stops the ghost
