He CAN beat all of the above except Marquez (well that CAN happen, but it is far less likely than the others.. and so must be accounted for separately!). Marquez aside, Bradley would be the most difficult. The likes of Maidana, V. Ortiz, etc should be listed. & also some 135ers (as I'm sure he's not done there.. even if it is to just pick up a belt and vacate straight away!)
that's the thing. question was phrased.. who 'can' he beat. He has decent chances vs. all except Marquez, as far as I'm concerned. Would I outright favour him in any of those? vs. Witter, yes, though even that wouldn't be by a mile apart. still with strong reservations & uneasiness!
Khan's got great hand speed and could go far. But sooner or later someones going to find that chin again.
so many people already sold on khan only cause of that one fight. i believe that in his 2nd defense of the title he will get knocked out. he'll get iced by a guy with a punch, like torres for example
Junior witter is in his reach. Hatton could be outboxed but its dangerous fight for Khan, one punch could change the fight
Hatton - Maybe Bradley - No chance. He gets KO'd or loses a wide decision Campbell - Has a chance to play keep away and pull out a W, but I like Nate to beat him Witter - I think Witter catches him with a big shot and KO's him Marquez - Maybe if he fought like he did against Barerra
He should go for Malignaggi. His defence is definitely improving, but he still has that fragile chin. Someone like Mali, who is a name fighter but a weak puncher, would be ideal to increase Khan's fame with less risk. It wouldn't be easy, of course -- Malignaggi will make things awkward, but it's a winnable fight for Khan.
exactly. other problem is those rough-house tactics Hatton employs. Yep. Though if Malignaggi loses to Juan Diaz (which he WILL lose...unless he is revitalized after losing so convincingly to Hatton), people will question it unless Paulie notches a win up at 140 and uses the catchweight as a bit of an excuse. Freddie's pathway scares me, though. He wants Hatton or Morales next (both are on his list for Amir) & Marquez within the forseeable, not-so-distant future (end of next tops). Nothin' like that to say "hey amir! I believe in you, son!"
