To repeat the oft-stated cliche, styles make fights.

Pac annihilated Cotto...won every round and then stopped him.
Later, Floyd only managed a close points win over Cotto.

So Floyd was headed for an ass-whupping from Manny ?
    Didn't work out that way.

If Spence had been the opponent instead of Ugas, and if he had pressed the action early (very possible) he could well have been tagged early, even hurt, which might have led to Pac cruising to a points win, or even stopping the younger man.

Ugas fought the fight he needed to...cautious and good use of the jab. He never went hard on the attack. His disciplined fight plan was just what was needed to beat the ageing Pac. Spence MIGHT have been an easier task for the Filipino.

That said, the most likely outcome s in order would have been

    Spence by points
    Spence by KO
    Pac by points
    Pac by KO

I think Pacman would have done better against Spence. Not sure if enough to win, but Ugas tight guard and long arms made hitting him clean difficult. Pac's older less mobile legs couldn't control the distance as well as in his youth. Spence would be more aggressive, and open up more opportunities for Pac to hit him. There is also the fact that training camp was more Spence-specific.

I thought it would be on a competitiveness level of Spence vs DSG. Spence gets an early lead, maybe drops a round or two, then doesn't take any risks and cruises to the finish.

Everything Ugas did had an effect. Spence is only more powerful and throws more, I don't think he could have avoided KOing Pac.

What is wrong with you? Serious question. You just seem far too emotionally invested and triggered by me and Pacquiao related threads. It's very clear and observable that you are distressed.

You're definitely triggered. You don't think there's a reliable, consistent, and proven pattern with you?

Dude, other posters have messaged me about you.

Seeing how Pac looked against Ugas, I can't think they had another other gameplan other than to throw caution to wind and sell out looking for the KO. Maybe lightning would have struck as Pac probably would have been less hesitant given the magnitude of the fight... But that's not likely. Spence would weather that storm and break him down by the time the middle rounds hit.

Clearly people underestimate how big and strong Spence is. He would have used his jab the same, he would have murdered Manny to the body, and his counters would have done damage. There is no plausible path to Manny winning a Spence fight.

It's unbelievable that Pacquiao almost faced a Spence who had a weakened retina, but wasn't aware of it. Pac could have TKO6'd him. He would still have to get through a 1 eyed Spence, which I'm not positive he could've. He would have instantaneously become the GOAT.
