Calazaghe would have won a lopsided points win. Froch has of course a punchers chance but Joe had a decent chin, amazing stamina and great heart and recovery so even it Froch landed a beauty I'd expect Calzaghe to get up and grind out the win.

Calzaghe would win a lopsided decision like Ward did.

Froch was getting outboxed against Taylor

    Calzaghe was better than Taylor

    heresay.
taylor did what calzaghe refused to do for years - fight and dethrone bernard hopkins.
taylor had a major achilles heel, which didn't come to light at MW because there were no punchers, but the man beat hopkins when nobody had for years...twice.

stop giving calzaghe unwarranted rep points when he never fought a top fighter in his prime.
he just looked good against the rest.

Been done to death that one mate.. Hopkins rejected a multi million dollar offer in the early 00s to fight Joe & fought Joppy instead:

As for Taylor, its not really hearsay it's based on balance of facts.. You can't compare Taylor to JC. He was a very good fighter don't get me wrong but he got turned over at SMW by AA & Froch.. both of whom Calzaghe would have beat imo.. & don't forget MW Pavlik & WW Cory Spinks outboxed him .. again both of those would have lost to Joe.. Pavlik got embarrassed by small southpaw Martinez & toyed with by Hopkins..

Joe would have beaten Taylor who always struggled with southpaws ..

On the two Hopkins wins, FairPlay but i suspect Hopkins was rinsing the last dregs of 160 out of his body by then , he was always a good sized MW, so I highly doubt it was easy for him to make 160 at 40 years old .. this was basically confirmed by him turning over to 175 immediately after Taylor. He looked far more effective as a LHW at that stage of his career.

Yes Calzaghes career could have been better earlier on & stalled in parts but it came good in the end & is recognised as a HOF fighter now. The guy deserves respect whether you like him or not.

Are you aware that Hopkins decided against facing Calzaghe years previously
I think he decided against facing Calzaghe to I think face Hakkar for much less

Now you say Calzaghe didn't fight a top fighter in their prime, so please tell me which top SMWs you think he should have faced besides Ottke, who's trainer said Sven wasn't interested, so tell me all the top prime SMWs that you think he should have fought

Wait for it. Aussie will come out with another classic post whilst ducking the question

A low handed tough as nails style versus an extremely mobile volume puncher with endless stamina?

Why would Joe move down to fight Hopkins? So everyone could say he beat a smaller guy? He ended up beating him at 175 anyways.

Speed kills... Calzaghe too fast for Froch but it would be a good fight.

Calzaghe beat some solid SMWs earlier on.. Reid, Mitchell, Brewer.. all of whom probably beat his rival Otke. Even Eubank was still good enough to to beat up CW champion Thompson in a fight he was unlucky not to get the nod in.. Mitchell by rights should have been a unified champion when they fought too. Wasn't a big name but ppl talk like these guys were bums, Mitchell was a golden gloves champion & lineal champion at SMW after KOing frankie Liles. Liles is a better win than any of this current crop of SMW pretenders have.. Liles had been champion for nearly 5 years.. look at some of the people the top dogs at super middleweight are fighting today LOL.. Truax & Uzcategui ffs.. Mitchell looks like an all-time great at the side of them

Calzaghe UD12. If you ever watch Froch v. Andre Dirrell, you can have a look of what such match would look like.

Froch was a hell of a fighter, but needed opponents with matching styles to shine.

I thought Froch had a tunnel vision on Calzaghe like Holyfield had a tunnel vision on Tyson.

I think Froch would have found a way.

Kessler was a top fighter, he also took on a Tough well seasoned Eubank when he was green.
