I love Donaire but you're nuts.

i would favor donaire to beat smaller canto and risky fighter like too sharp...the reach is just too much to overcome

Hearns was better @ 154 than 147. He was stronger and technically better. Hearns likely loses to the best at welter do to his weak chin and his greenness.

I really dont think Hearns was any better at 154...He was off the chain against Cueves, Weston (who gave Benitez hell a couple of times), former 140 champ Muangsurin, future titlist Bruce Curry (who also gave Wilfred a tough couple of fights) among others. Also looked very good against the 2nd best welter ever in Leonard, outboxing him for majority of the fight.

But because 154 is historically weaker and lacks depth compared to 147, he ranks better and has more H2H impact then he does at welter.

I think any improvement he had at moving up from 147 to 154 is slight at best. Just my opinion on that.

:goodHearns is nightmare period at any weight, but @154 is very slim of any one leaving with a victory.

To me it's an issue of him getting more experience. Plus from an all-tme perspective, Welterweight is just loaded and I think he's more clearly THE most brutal matchup at 154.

Too Sharp would outbox Donaire, he'd have no reason to get careless in exchanges, even though he was more than capable of holding his own in that regard as well.

If Zapata was having one of his off nights, I could see Donaire clipping him with something big. Otherwise, an A game Zapata is too elusive and skilled for Donaire, who is not suited to a stalking style of fighting the way he is a counter-punching style.

As for Canto, he was one of the best pure boxers in the history of the sport, as evidenced by his remarkable consistency at the top of the greatest era in the lower weight division's history. His bouts were so close because of the skill level of his opposition, and Canto's stature in comparison to them. His skills were sublime.
