Who would rank as the top 5 opponents for Triple G in his career so far?

    I'm guessing.

    1. Martin Murray (eliminated in the 11th round)
    2. Curtis Stevens (went down in the 8th round)
    3. Adama (defeated in 6th round)
    4. Monroe (defeated in 6th round)
    5. Proska (knocked out in 5th round)

Ouma has been the toughest, then maybe Murray, Stevens, Adama and after that some other early fight.

Geale had defeated adama, was a unified world champ at the weight, I'm pretty sure his above everyone on this list. Murray the closest to him.

Well he put them away so he's doing what he should if he's as good as we think, what would constitute 'hype job', being dealt with easily or stopped are obvious but would losing competitively to Ward, Canelo or Cotto or winning a decision and not knocking them out deem him ''hype job''? It's an interesting question.

    2) TOMATO CAN
    3) TOMATO CAN
    4) TOMATO CAN
    5) TOMATO CAN

I'd slot Geale right behind Murray, but yeah, he belongs on the list.

Maybe monroe jr was the scariest, those 6 kos in his whole career are frightening.:scaredas:

Though, I kind of agree too with the guy who said ishida, he knocked out kirkland :admin this guy is serious business, isn't he?

But Adama gave Golovkin a much better fight than Geale did

Would you guys rank Lemieux #1 after Golovkin knocks him out?

He is the IBF Titleholder and 34-2 (31 KO's). He's on a 9 fight winning-streak with wins over Gabriel Rosado (TKO) and Hassan N'dam (UD).

N'Dam won over Curtis Stevens, and Lemieux won over N'Dam.

Lemieux is listed as a Top 5 MW in most rankings. I'd place him as one of the best opponents, but I don't think he'll be the toughest to beat.

In terms of quality of opponents at the time he fought them i'd have it
    1. Murray, should have been lineal champ with wins over Martinez and Sturm.

    2. Geale , former champion with wins over 4 former world champions.

    3. Macklin, Guy who had a close fight with Sturm and was winning against martinez before the stoppage, also has a win over Alcine who beat Lemieux.

    4. Marco Antonio Rubio, guy has plenty of fights and knockouts, including a knockout of a Lemieux, albeit when Lemieux was green.

    5. Curtis Stevens, hard hitting puncher who although doesn't have any notable wins was rated in the top 10 at the time and many thought would test Golovkins chin.

There you have it. In no way are these guys "bums".

And Cotto lost to Trout doesn't mean Canelo is cherry picking him.

Toughest opponents (not the same as "performed best"):
    1. Murray
    2. Geale
    3. Macklin
...then a big drop off to the Rubio and Monroe-level opponents, which 9G has several of.
