Who would support a "corrected record" forum on ESB or elsewhere?

A corrected record section, on which we vote on the wrongs of the past

  1. Great idea. Save us a lot of time re-litigating the same things, and silences the boxrec warriors.

  2. Dumb idea. What does it solve?

    The idea is simple.

We spend an enormous amount of time re-litigating the screwjobs of the past, and when we are describing records, we have to say these awkward things like:

Johnson lost to Marvin Hart, though most newspaper accounts of the day had Johnson winning...

Why not just have a section in which we post the fights in threads, discuss the evidence, take a vote, render a final verdict and give a corrected record based on the evidence and public opinion?

We could right all wrongs of the past.

Johnson-Hart, Marciano-Lastarza 1, Marciano-Lowery, Ali's fights against Shaver, Norton, and Young, Taylor-Chavez, Leonard-Haglar, Leonard Hearns 1 (due to the accusations of quick stoppage), Leonard-Hearns II, and on and on.

Perhaps we could petition the mods to roll it up to the owners of the site:

Most boxing fans can't score a fight or score dishonestly.

    Youre on the right track.
This place could be utilized for a lot of great crowd sourcing findings.
But it gets spoiled by the Tommy McMustache fans.
