Id love to see khan win. But ricky would get slightly more support in general because of what he has achieved and done for british boxing.

    Hope that answers your question.

Hatton would still ko khan. Al this hype surrounding khan is laughable. He's still done next to nothing of great significance in his career.

At this stage, Khan. Hatton shouldn't take this fight.

I dont think he will be as successful on the world stage as Hatton was.

    >No chin

Oh... you scamp :3 Get out of here you rascal...

But yeah, Khan > Hatton unless he got careless, though I did notice in his match against Kotelnik he was prone to the occasional body shot, though I guess there's no way to protect against that if he's too busy protecting his chin.
I don't see where this logic comes from. Hatton has lost to the top two pound for pound fighters in the world. In the other ones of his last five fights, he has demolished Castillo in four, dominated Malignaggi (a similar level champ to Kotelnik) in 11. The only one where he wasn't too impressive was Lazcano, but even he is better than anyone Khan ever fought bar Kotelnik. How quickly we forget, it wasn't 12 months ago Khan was knocked silly inside a round by a nobody (a result that looks more embarrassing everytime Prescott fights). He has done more in recent fights to show he belongs at world title level than Khan has for mine.

I have some time for Khan, he looks like he's knuckled down since then and is determined to make a go of things and stay on the right track. However, I have always said kotelnik as a champ was a good style match for him. I think Hatton as his peak would have KO'd him early. I won;t be totally sold on Khan at world level until I see him beat a world class fighter who can hit a bit. Hatton has good footwork to close a fighter down and enough power to spark Khan out. Khan and Pac are not even close to being comparable, there are a good 2-3 levels between those fighters.

For all that I give Khan a shot simply because nobody knows how Hatton will come back from the Pac loss, whether that fight and the constant poor lifestyle will catch up with him. But if he;s half what he was I think Khan ends up out of there.
Great post! I agree, it is a tough one to call because nobody is really sure how good Hatton is anymore.

I would be interested in how the fight would play out but I think it would be damaging to at least one of them so hope it doesn't go ahead.

think hatton would get more support and i still think he would win! just beceause Khan won a world tittle doesn't make him world class, thou in the last couple of fights has show vast improvements and if he keeps it up i'm sure he'll win more fans and recognition

If Khan was to knock out Hatton then that would mean that Amir would be the nly person along with Pacquiao and Mayweather that could do that.... that puts Khan above the other guys in his division (in theory anyway) like Malignaggi and Urango.... who Hatton has beat himself.

Hatton is significantly more popular, the PPV figures tell their own story.

I would still back Hatton to win.

I think the general public would go with Hatton.

    I would be supporting Hatton.

And i think even this version of Hatton beats Khan.

Whilst Khan was quality in his last fight, im not completley sold on his ability to beat the top level fighters at 140.

But let me reiterate....he was ****ing great in his last fight.

Hatton would stop Khan, its only a matter of time before he comes unstuck again. He may have improved defensively but he's no Floyd jr, sooner or later he will get tagged. Hattons struggled against handspeed when alot thoughts were put into the work, the spped was used to counterpunch. Khan puts no thought into his work, just throws meaningless flurries with little to no power that look good to the judges, no way he would stop Hatton, he would be walked down and given a few rib ticklers for his troubles

The original question reards who the majority support would be for, not who'd win.

Considering Hatton is a white Anglo Saxon and Khan is of Pakistani stock, there is no danger where the majority of support would be.

No matter how many Union Jack flags Khan waves!!

I would think that Hatton would have more support. Hatton is a great fighter and his PPV numbers say it all.

I'm not a Brit, but I wouldn't like seeing this fight as a Hatton fan at this stage of Hatton's career because he is past his prime now, while Khan's skills are developing and he is getting better.
