AA was not bruised up lol...and if he was to you, so what, he was in a fight. PW doesn't have enough power to keep AA off, or take his shots. Once PW is hurt, fight over. Thw worst thing youcan do against a gy like AA is throw 100 punches a round. That's 99 chances AA has to uncoil lol...
The key factor would be Williams defense, not his offense. His offense should be enough to score rounds by just being busy, but he would have to avoid taking almost ANY return fire. The moment he thinks he can boss Abraham or "bruise him up" is the moment he takes a shot sending him into the 3rd row.
I don't want to see AA at 160 ever again. He looks a lot stronger at this weight, even Edison Miranda commented he was so much stronger and punching harder. He was already struggling to make 160, it ain't gonna be any easier after a few years of weighing in at 168. If the fight happened a few years ago its near impossible to say, Pavlik against Williams would have given us a better idea of how Williams takes punches. I'm sure Williams would cause him a lot of trouble if he's tough enough.
AA stops him brutally. Paul Williams is not a Middleweight, and if he were he wouldn't be a particularly big one. AA has eaten up bigger and tougher guys than him for breakfast. Williams' defence has gaping holes in it, and he doesn't have very much to get Abraham's respect. Abraham comes out of his shell at some point and breaks that jaw open.
Abraham by TKO/KO. Paul's defense is not that good and he does get hit quite a bit. I just don't know how he can take abraham's power. That is why i give kelly pavlik a puncher's chance against PW when they finally fight.
I think Abrahams power will get to Williams, in the sense that he loses some of his workrate, and i see a close decision for AA.
Paul Williams feeling AA's power will be reluctant to throw as many punches as he is used too, that I can guarantee. He will need to change his gameplan. AA will go to PW's body early in the fight and finish him off later in the fight! PW's activity I think will work against him if he fought Arthur.
Taylor did bruise him, but Taylor had Pavlik reeling allover the place, Hopkins didn't. Williams won't connect on a prime AA as much as he did on a washed up bloated old Wright, and he doesn't have the power of a full-blown 168lb Taylor. Taylor didn't punch a lot, but was sitting down on his punches to impress, Williams throws to overwhelm and score. This content is protected
I think 160 is the limit for the weigh-jumping Williams. No amount of workrate or skills can win this one for Williams, who has shown he is susceptible of being hit regularly and against the heavy hands of Abraham, that would be his end. Abraham wins this via KO late round.
Arthur A. by merciless ko.. PW should not even think about making this fight unless he's getting paid huge retirement-kind -of -like-money!!
AA KO. Look at how many times Williams was hurt by he realtviely light punching Martinez (in comparison to AA) at 160.
