I saw both fighters last night, 1 is for the future and the other is ready today. For Rogan I would love him next to be pitched in with Valuev. He chop the giant down in the latter rounds. If Chagaev is out due to his cut, could this fight be made? For Fury it is about getting the balance with giving him a proper challenge to boost his ring education without taking stupid risks. Cliff Couser would be a low risk, but big publicity due to the Mike Tyson link.
You're way off here. Rogan is now no.1 contender for the European title. So is Dimitrienko. See other thread for musings on the slim possibility of that fight happening. Fury should fight Sexton, Chisora or the heavily-muscled (ripped) guy Larry something (might not even be Larry) and prove himself the best of the lower-end of domestic prospects. If he proves that, McDermott, Williams or Audley. If he can do that as well, he will be ready for Rogan. If he can beat ROgan, he's ready for European level. See what I'm doing. Building him up with feasible fights for a prospect who wants to get pushed hard. A Yank isn't feasible IMO. If I were putting him in against a Yank I'd have no trouble putting him in with Rahman, who is shot, a name, and would still give Fury something to think about. I honestly think his next fight should be against someone at least 6'5. Sexton fits the bill, and it's also a realistic fight. A 6-rounder, who can forget Chisora and Sexton's thrilling six-rounder last year??!?!?
