my question still stands, what did you see on saturday that made you believe floyd, after that performance, will decline to the point where canelo can catch him? Unless you're talking about a fight years from now where floyd is clearly on the slip (where, knowing floyd, he will have already retired), nothing from last saturday, a total boxing masterclass might I add, again, gives me the slightest indication that canelo would be able to beat floyd because of some mythical combination of canelo's prime (something we cannot see) floyd's decline (something we probably should be seeing and do not see, and furthermore, something that does not seem on the verge of being seen), and the weight issue, something no evidence supports was ever an issue at all.

your entire second paragraph is nonsensical opinion and nothing within it is worth a response.

Check the scorecards again. He didn't win all 12.

I saw no blood, no knockdowns, with a lot of missed punches, and one guy running away from the other guy. I called it a draw. They should have fought until someone got knocked down

I agree that it was a boxing masterclass by Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd's in-ring skill wasn't the problem. As far as Floyd's in-ring skill is concerned, he's an ATG already, like Roy Jones, like Muhammad Ali. In no way am I hating on Floyd's skill and career as a boxer. He's done a hell of a job.

To your question, nothing I saw Saturday indicated to me that Floyd is declining physically to the point to where Canelo could beat him. I think it's more likely that Canelo wasn't at his best due to the weight then Floyd is on the decline. Canelo did not look as comfortable in there then he was vs Trout.

Straining to lose 2 extra pounds when you have been only having to make 154 can do that to you. (make you less strong and less comfortable) If the weight wasn't an issue, then why did Floyd negotiate his way from 147 up to get a catchweight? Answer me that.

it sounds like you would be much more content watching toughman contests if that's the case, not the technical side of elite level pugilism.

See my question above posed to m8te in regard to the weight. If he just weighed 153, and whether he's 152 or 153 makes no difference, then why did Floyd negotiate up from 147 to get Canelo to agree to a catchweight? If 153 is the same as 152, and it made no difference, then why did Floyd even make it a sticking point to Canelo signing the contract? Obviously those 2 lbs meant a lot to Floyd or he woudn't have made the Catchweight.

i would be rooting for canelo but logic has to go with mayweather. canelo would be even heavier and mayweather would still stay around 150 and then run circles around canelo and just be lighter on his feet and quicker to the punch and quicker on defense. the only chance canelo would have is if he went all out from the opening bell and try to knock him out.

Well I don't thin he'd have to go all-out aggressive like Hatton. But he'd plan to open up more in spots throughout the fight. Try to get Floyd on the ropes, or in a corner and just wail away. Floyd is slippery, and he'd need to be 100%, at his best to be able to do that. A 90% Canelo might not be enough to land big shots on Floyd. Canelo would have to have a training camp not focused on cutting weight, but rather a training camp focused on maintaining weight and building muscle while burning fat.
