Oh - and would you give your right arm, left knacker, or one of your kidneys to see this happen? :D

In a one off, 12 round superfight under modern interpretations Id have to back Roy over all of them...many might not agree but thats how I see it.

But its hard to back Roy in this format with any kind of confidence...Facing all of those guys at one time or another over 15 (because most of those guys fought in the 15 round era Id say that would the fairest option) presumebly fairly close together..Roy's body of work at the weight just isnt strong enough IMO to warrant my earlier prediction with any certainty.

I really do find it hard to pick a winner out of that bunch...It might end up like the current one with different styles working against different fighters.
Id still say it would be between Monzon and Roy in the end.

Ok screw it, no way we can leave those guys out (I struggled to get it down to 6).

    Let's make it a super 10 lol.

    So who is your pick?

    I think Monzon would win.
I'd put money on Jones Jr as well. I think if this was real Robinson and Monzon would be the betting favroits and there would be some good odds on Jones. Who may be better at 168 and 175, but I think he had the timing and speed to either beat anyone or at least give them a lot of probblems.

I know what you mean Joe. You can't have a list of MWs with any of these Men left out. I would add Zale, LaMotta, Hagler, Hopkins.

Jones doen´t deserve to be in there. Dick Tiger, Bob Fitzsimmons, Mickey Walker or Tommy Ryan are more deserving. Anyway, the answer is Monzon.

I'm sure many will pick Monzon only for him to get shut out in the first round, just like many picked Kessler before the super 6, both have similar strengths and weaknesses.

Jones is a different level talent wise to the rest and can do things in the ring the others wouldn't dare dream about. Ofcourse you can argue the others achieved more, but none were nearly as dominant and head and shoulders above their contempories

Even though Jones Jr would poleaxe every single one of those renaisscance fisticuffers.

Anyway, the answer is Marvin Hagler

Monzon would have a shot at Hagler and maybe Greb, but the rest would beat him soundly. Against Robinson, Hopkins and even Jones he'd have next to no chance.

I'd favor Greb to prevail. Harry would be fast, relentless and bewildering with his in and out blizzard of gloves. He wouldn't be attempting to stop anybody, but would be focused entirely on winning decisions with sheer volume. Pot shots and chess playing won't work with him, and he would not fade as his matches progressed.

Where Hagler is concerned, review his draw with Antuofermo. Harry is Vito with hand and foot speed, and cut resistance. Marv didn't respond well when opponents were running at him, and Greb would be subjecting him to plenty of that. Harry had oodles of experience dealing with seasoned southpaw middleweights. (He may have been the rightful winner in all of his matches with Flowers, even when fading at the end.)

As indomitable as Monzon could be, he's not outworking Greb over 15. Carlos would be retreating behind his jab, but even Tunney couldn't master control of Harry with that tactic. I don't think Monzon's jab quite measures up to those of Tunney and Loughran.

Greb-Hopkins would be filthy, but when it came to foul tactics, Harry wrote the book. Whether they fight dirty or clean though, work rate does it for Greb.

Roy is not getting by with a low guard and athleticism alone here. Accounts suggest Harry could match his speed, and Greb dealt with plenty of harder hitting heavyweights. Anyway, this was not the best weight for Jones.

This wasn't the best weight for Robby either. Harry wouldn't be weight drained like LaMotta was for the Valentine's Day Massacre, and he would not be fading late.

Fitz had tremendous difficulty with Corbett's speed, and wanted no part of him a second time. Harry would be in and out before Fitz could set himself for planting his bombs.

Harry was clearly fading when he cleanly outpointed a still ascendant Walker. Peak for peak would be somewhat closer, but I don't see Mickey getting near enough to gain a split on three scorecards. Greb was simply greater.

Ketchel is not going to fade as the match progresses, but he's not going to match Harry's speed either. I fully expect Stan to load up and try getting Greb out of there, and Harry wouldn't stay still long enough to cooperate.

:huhCare to elaborate? I'd favor him over all of them, personally. Though, to be fair, I think it'd be a lot easier to stick with modern era fighters that we have a decent amount of footage of in a discussion such as this.
