    I feel Moore was more skilled than Norton was and Quarry fought better on the inside v Shavers than Norton did.

    Shavers is the perfect big man for Moore to work against.
    Moore was great against the bigger Valdes.

    Possibly but the main issue is moore is giving up a significant size advantage as a light heavy and he was kod by guys who didnt hit as hard as shavers.

    Archie should out point him..but is it possible that Shaver's could come from behind and drop him ,as he did Larry ?
    And could AM recover from that ??

    Moore would stay in the pocket, and counter Shavers to death. Shavers looped his punches esp his power shots. Moore would easily see them coming and nail him effectively and consistently with counters. Shavers didn't have the chin of Marciano and (41) yr old Moore dropped him. Imagine what would happen to Shavers vs a Prime Moore. I see a one sided beat down for Moore

    I'm going the other way, the Shavers that fought Ali knocks Archie completely out. Moore wasn't a mover .

    Moore was far quicker than Ali was in his bout v Shavers, he was in decline and badly out of shape.

    Ali wasn't close to prime when he fought Shavers, (right before his lost to Neon Leon ) he was a shell of himself getting by on a "will to win" in 1977. Prime or close to prime Ali ends Shavers night well before 10rds in my opinion. And would still be looking pretty .

    Point being, that Shavers went 15 rounds, and Ali said he was the hardest puncher he ever faced. Archie got starched by Ezzard Charles, he could be blasted by Shavers.

    No doubt,,,,but that doesn't mean he couldn't lose to him. Iran Barkley was a level below Hearns and he iced him.

    Whenever you went live to Earnie's fights, it was so easy to see what he was doing. Simple actually. He was a major league telegrapher. Everyone in the arena saw what Earnie was going to throw and when. Not as bad as Ruddock, but still probably the 2nd worst guy I have seen in the ring as far as the heavyweight telegraphers. And since when do the telegraphers get the A+ results once they start fighting elites?

    Moore didn't have a top chin either. Shavers remains very under rated skill wise. I'd favor Shavers.
