So basically this thread follows each of them as they moved up in division as if they were fighting at the same time. From their prime.. till they got bigger and older...So, from lightweight on.... if they faced one another in each division who would've won....

130 if floyd were to get his hands on a drained Whitaker would win. 135-147 Whitaker takes pretty comfortably. 154 is a tough one to gage however I'd have Whitaker as a slight favourite.

    Whitaker 8-4 at 135.

    Whitaker 7-5 at 140 and 147.

Mayweather 7-5 at 154 if its the Whitaker in the shape he turned up in against Vasquez.

Whitaker moved further away his peak the more he moved up than Floyd did, but was still a better fighter than PBF until he hit 154.

Pea wasnt the same after he moved up toe `47. He was still winning but his concentration and sharpness started to wane. He was getting dropped by guys that wouldnt have touched him at `35.

I think Mayweather is stronger Welter.

    Floyd UD

Floyd said he sparred Pernell when they were younger, and the way he describes it, you get the feeling Floyd is very confident that he'd beat Pernell.

Really good interview, pretty interesting stuff from Floyd.

Doesn't PBF sound that way about everybody? I don't think it means much. I've seen Whitaker interviewed where he said he wouldn't have many problems with PBF or Pac if he fought them.

I used to think that PEa would beat PBF but Since the Marquez fight I think pbf has developed an outstanding jab...That along with his reach I think would give him the victory if they fought at 147

PBF Jab is no where NEAR as good as Pea's... The jab isn't what will win him the fight.

a toss up for me. You maybe right about Mayweather being stronger. He has been at this weight a long time. I still pick Whitaker to outbox Floyd. floyd would have to use his jab to win this fight, and he doesn't use it enough for this kind of fighter or level of fighter.

Whilst it's true that Whitaker showed a more marked difference at 147, let's not forget that Whitaker was taking on the likes of Chavez, DLH, McGirt whilst Mayweather was taking on Baldomir, Hatton and Judah and an ancient Mosley.

There's a big jump in class there.
