You mean all that bodybuilding stuff from those Charles Atlas adverts in the 1960s and 70s? Yeah I can believe a lot of men including boxers sending off for that back then.
Yeah, all the Atlas and Sandow stuff, though it goes early than 60s, some to the 1890s! They also incorporated alot of wrestling. Charles Bronson (actor) used to do it too. He was in crazy shape in his 50s. Isometeics are very effective when done right.
"Experts" keep on bidsching but Wilder keeps on winning......... Wilder is fast of hand and foot and highly unpredictable.....keeps power for all 12...has no stamina problems, has absolute lights out power, a sturdy chin, is calm under fire and has absolute self confidence......all of that will take you very far in the Heavyweight division...in ANY era....full stop. Outboxed ? LOL, all except Fury were eventually laid out......a win is a win ......and Featherfist Fury is running for the Hills now because he does not like his chances to get up a second time from a similar punch...............and contrary to all the Fury balllsuggers , he was in the BEST shape of his life, this 60 % shape /coke habit/obese is a toatl farce, you aint getting up from a viscous knock down in the 12 round if you are not in the best shape of you life .Fact. After Wilder dispatches Ortiz he will unify by beating Ruiz, who is tailor made for him, will starch that walking Heavybag Whyte does not matter if he is on any roid in the world, Whyte will get face planted hard......will take AJ out of his misery and let him retire with a big fight ending with a search party looking for AJ's head in the cheap seats..........and same "experts" will still bidsch about another bogeyman who will starch Wilder........
Charles Bronson was a heavy chain smoker.....he only trained for looks......in Hard Times he had to take extensive breaks because he got extremely winded while filming the choreographed fight scenes ...his cardio sucked.
I rly have no time for this nonsense. At the time Wilder was 41-0, your technical powerhouse, beeing a fullgrown HW among 190-CWs, had already lost 7 times and was ahead of getting another two whoopings. The mighty Max Baer.....
This Baer was a joke..... Baer fought ONE legitimate modern Heavy in Joe Louis and they had to drag him out of the locker because he lost all his heart there......and then was dispatched like the unskilled cave man he was.....uneventful and un competitive....... The end.
I know. He was also 52. He must of been fit when he was actively serving in the milliatry, and boxing in his youth. He was strong, which these methods develop.
He lost his biggest fight. And other than he's yet to fight an elite level HW. He has very good stamina. Make no mistake. But would he have anywhere near as good stamina if he threw as many punches as Tyson, Frazier, Ike ect. An iffy chin* Sturdy chins aren't dropped by Harold Sconiers, Dustin Nichols, left on ***** street by Luis Ortiz and rocked badly by Eric Molina. Wilder is lucky to be in this era. He'd be seen as a shithouse in the 2000s and 80s. If he was in the 70s or 90s we wouldn't even know his name. Fury might not have elite Power but he isn't feather fisted. Yes. Outboxed, he has been horrendously outboxed by Fury, Spzilka, Washington, Ortiz and Duhaupas And contrary to all the Wilder ballsuckers He hasn't beaten anyone good, is technically the worst top HW ever, lost his biggest fight and is completely one dimensional. He was completely outboxed against Fury, should've lost and only being Haymon's little **** toy why he escaped with a draw. Fury had 2 fights back and had to lose 100lbs. He was not in the best shape of his life. He was in much better shape for Klitschko and Hammer. Fact. He did get up from a KD in the 12th because Wilder's powers overrated. Isn't that what everyone said about Joshua Ruiz? Wilder isn't guaranteed to KO Ruiz and if it becomes an inside fight then Wilder is definitely the one getting KOed. What if Whyte lands his hook first? Ever think of that? Should Wilder miss his right hand, which he does pretty frequently and a good counter puncher like Whyte catches him cold with a left hook and KOs him... Another 50-50 fight. You make out like AJ can't KO Wilder. What happens if AJ bulls Wilder to the ropes and unloads? He KOs Wilder is what happens.
Sounds cute, but so far he only won very tough fight against old Ortiz and got a gift against Fury. He hasn't beaten Ruiz, Joshua or White so far. He probably wouldn't as he doesn't face the best competiton outside of Fury fight. Wilder is excellent fighter but he's very overrated in comparison to other ATG fighters, like most power punchers.
He was less consistent than Wilder, but he fought the best. Wilder would have more losses had he beat actual contenders on route to the title. And you say that like Joe Louis wouldn't pummel Wilder as well. 41-0-1* Because you can't deny the fact Wilder's résumé is an absolute joke.
Baer fought his 40th fight after 3 years of boxing, compared to Wilder's almost decade. It's not comparable. Baer fought: Frank Campbell in his 26th fight. Earnie Schaff in his 27th fight. Tommy Loughran in his 29th fight. Paulino Uzcudun in his 32nd fight Before Stiverne fight, Wilder fought nobody relevant. It's not even comparable. As I said, Baer was inconsistent and he had mental problems after Campbell death. He was extremely good at his best though.
