Would the lack of confidence and weak chin of Roy Jones Jr. hold up to the pulverizing left hook of Bob Foster? Who would win and how?
Roy would not be able to handle Foster. Roy would do better fighting his typical B rated fighter. Foster was too hard a puncher for Roy. Foster was an A fighter. Roy only fought a few A fighters like McCallum and Hill and Toney. Yet each of those guys were a little out of thier prime when he fought them, which meant they were once A fighters who were B+ when Roy fought them.
The thread starter is a joker, but I think Roy would be well ahead on points until about the 9th, when Foster would time his perfectly with a left hook. Nothing wrong with Roy's chin in his prime, but it doesn't mean the likes of Foster couldn't knock him out. Foster did have losses at LHW, so it isn't out of the question that Roy would beat him. I just think on his day Foster would have the punch required to stop Roy in his tracks.
Foster by one of the most brutal KO'd in boxing history Bob Foster had quite possible had the most 1-shot concussive power ever seen. Combine that with Roy Jones's chin. I wouldnt want to see this fight for the sake of Roys health.
I think Roy's chin was vulnerable. Anyway, this fight is a nightmare for Roy. No harder night at 175 exists for him. Foster.
Roy could not take the punch of Foster. Roy avoided punches when he was younger in such a way that he knew something was up about his chin. I give him credit for never being hit clean although he never fought guys who could reach his chin. Foster would reach it and Roy would be stopped about round 4.
I think Roy had a good chin in his prime but it was not good enough to stand up to Foster. Bob KO's him within 6 rounds. This is an even worse matchup for Jones than Charles.
