The ring magazine rated Robinson No.1 in a list of the greatest P4P fighters in the last 50 years in an edition of the ring in 1997, Hagler rated at No.20 in the same list.
    Here`s what was added:
    Ray Robinson
    Quality of competition: 10
    Bouts v top 50 fighters: 4
Why he`s here: The last 50 years, the last 100 years, it doesn`t matter. He`s the greatest fighter of all-time
What he could have done to improve his ranking: Walked on water.

    Marvin Hagler
    Quality of competition: 9
    Bouts v top 50 fighters: 3
Why he`s here: Dominated the division for more than 10 years, both before and during his title reign
What he could have to improve his ranking: Not given away the first four rounds vs. Sugar Ray Leonard.

Who would have won this clash?

Got to go with Robinson. Hagler had problems with fighters that could out-think him, force him to lead, and have enough foot speed to change angles on him forcing him to re-set.
Robinson could do that. Robinson also had the hand speed to counter Hagler. Being able to counter him successfully seemed to make him hesitate, and over think which was demonstrated against Duran and Leonard.
Theirs no Middleweight in history that swarmed, depended on their power, and had a go forward style I would pick over Hagler. He'd cut fighters like that in half. Which for the most part, that's how most of the ATG Middleweights fought.
Hagler in my opinion would have a easier time with fighters like M.Walker or H.Greb whom were Atg's than fighters that had great ability like M.Nunn, RJJ, and maybe Toney.

Did Sugar Ray Robinson ever even fight a southpaw?

Robinson, though I think Hagler is the better middleweight.

The only southpaw I know that Robinson fight was Joe Curcio. He KOed Curcio at the end of the first round, and hit him so hard that he wasn't awake for the start of the second. Reread that. He was out COLD for over a minute.

The Robinson that won a few lost a few against Basilio, Fullmer and Turpin beats the greatest middleweight of all time? No
