Assuming that we scale GGG up or Rocky down & there is no loss of power or technique- then I will go with GGG. A better all round fighter with better technique & boxing has evolved since the 50s. Nothing against The Rock but he was fairly crude & IMO the most overrated of all the late great heavyweights. I’m not saying he wasn’t a legend, he was ……. but an overrated legend. GGG does a lot of smart things in the ring & I can’t see much difference in power-so technique wins.
I pasted this reply from Quora.com because I don`t agree with what is being said and I thought it might get a few responses. Do you agree? Also could they have met at a catch weight?

I think Rocky would win eventually.

Going to back the more proven boxer.

Doesn`t GGG train down from 175? Wasn`t Marciano about 189? A big gap but I feel GGG might have the same reach that Marciano had.

Valuev`s punch wasn`t harder than GGG`s and neither was Carnera`s and he weighed 250lbs, if Wilde caught Carnera good he would have knocked him out.

Lmao what the ****? Marciano breaks GGG's chin, and sends him to the floor for the first time in his career. Marciano KO late rounds after an extremely one-sided fight

    Rocco woodda clobber'd da bum!

Seriously, I don't think 3G can take the sort of punishment Rocky delivers over a fight. I think in a twelve round fight you just have an even more active Marciano so I'm not sure bringing Marciano into today helps 3G. His constant pressure, power, durability, and play with angles most do not bother with or train for would be quite a lot for 3G, and in a twelve rounder I think he'd work for the accumulative effect much earlier making 3G's end sooner rather than later.

Youse lot seem mostly interested in fantasy fights. Why don't y'all get title bout?

If Triple G. Knocks out Canalo the one real proven talent he's fought the 2nd go around and not get a draw with a natural Jr.middle again than we can talk about how Marciano would've destroyed him. Though I agree Marciano is overrated, he did beat some world class fighters in Charles, Moore and Louis though they were past their primes and in Moore and Charles case better suited to Lt.Heavy. To say boxing has advanced is also off base. If anything its regressed.

You should consider changing the title of this thread to "Golovkin vs. a Middleweight-Sized Marciano" or something.
