Ill have to say that it would be a very, very entretaining fight...possible a FOY candidate.

Additionally, this fight could easily break the 1M PPV mark. Just imagine, Cotto vs Canelo MSG, 2 episode 24-7, Mexico vs PR, the drama of "avenging the family" (with Canelo defeating Cotto's brother) I can see an easy 1+M PPV buys.

Now, lets consider this. Canelo on all his lets say last 2 years, his fights have been made for him to win. The quality of boxers has not been the best, in size and ability or have been "passed" boxers who were well in at the end of their careers.

By Canelo facing Cotto, he (Canelo) will be like jumping from 8th Grade into College. Hi is not even in high school yet as far as quality of opposition.

It would be a firefight of boxing match but Cotto's ring IQ, boxing ablity and experience will play a huge deal. Also, Cotto can bang as well so we will see.

Canelo's chin is still has doubs, and I never seen Cotto being hurt by a body shot.

    Cotto got this.

    War Cotto!

id be honestly suprised if Cotto lost more than 3 rounds. He has better power, better technical skills, and far more experience in big payday fights. I would love to see it this year or next but I got Cotto in a Ud either year.

Cotto easy. And I'd also have to say anybody who votes for Canelo at this point in time is probably a diehard fanboy.

And people are also giving way to much credit to a kid with no amateur background who hasn't beaten anybody worth note. Unless you count Mosley who should have retired 2-3 years ago at least.

cotto is a midget at 154
he hasnt done anything at 154 .
he beat yuri foreman 2 years ago
handed margarito his 3rd loss in 4 fights
handed mayorga his 4th loss in 7 fights
beat up by mayweather who isnt a 154 pound guy either.

yes, cotto is pretty overrated as a junior middleweight

    canelo beats his "little" ass

Cotto is a superior fighter, with a better skillset and more tools at his dispoal . Canelo could get him into some trouble if this is a close quarters type fight, but Cotto can also box well and Canelo is pretty flat footed. You can't underestimate Cotto's experience either.

Canelo stops him in 11 or 12, or just wins by UD is Canelo's chin doesn't get caught

And WTF has Canelo done at 154, seriously? He got his world title handed to him on a plate...beat a shot Cintron and a shot Mosley.

What's with all these fan boys jumping on the band-wagon of fighters who whilst exhibiting signs of potential, have done absolutely nothing worthy of such blind fanaticism?

    It's embarrassing.
