Who would win Jack Johnson of Havana Vs Lennox Lewis of TKO6?

Don't worry,I'm a bit slow on the uptake, lol. I think Lewis' power would probably have breached Jack's defences at some point.37 years old Jack was on the way out his last stand against Willard was a very fine and fitting one imo.

 

Willard sure is no Lewis, as McVey states Johnson was ready to be taken, Lewis would have dispatched Johnson much earlier than it took Willard.

Willard had game plan of wearing Johnson down, by using his sheer size, his superior fitness, comparitive youth and the good ol Havana sun, Lewis would bring that and many more skill sets to the table too.

 

Johnson was at the end of his rope and I think Lewis still had a few fights left but I think no matter when they fought both men would have an element in front of them that neither man had experienced. The earlier fight favors Lewis but the longer the fight goes Johnson increases his momentum

 

I stated comparative youth, Willard was nearly 4 yrs younger than Johnson, with regard to the fitness it is generally accepted that Willard was in best shape of his boxing life, wheras Johnson less so.

A fit earlier version of Johnson would have won with ease.

Johnson had personal, legal and social pressures upon him, he was not in best condition physically, so the time had come for a new champ, albeit that new champ not necessarily a ATG fighter.
