Anymore? Khan would have beat him on the day he turned pro.

Khan v Thaxton really is a pretty pointless debate now.

Particularly considering Khan is reported to be vacating the Commonwealth Title.

Thaxton remains mandatory for that title I believe.

An old man with a big punch though and against a fighter like Khan who is open to shots Thaxton could spring a surprise. I doubt it but I would not count Thaxton out totally.

I think he has too much height, reach, speed and skill. Worst of all is he now has a decent level of experience and fight more intelligently so Thaxton is losing out on fighting that way.

Thaxton wins it cos he actually has the balls to fight. Warren has taken Khans balls from him. Make the ****ing fight happen. Jon is the British champ. Khan needs to fight Romanov too.

Beating Jon and Yuri, helps his career much more than being a bogus mandatory or winning the title by 21. Hamed being youngest British champ doesn't really get talked about much anyway. I think Khans made it popular so if he achieves it, it'll be impressive.

Personally, I'd like to see him fight Romanov in June/July, Thaxton in September and then Camp/Casa in December/January! That would a big **** you to the world stage. Common, Brit, Euro and world title by 21 - now we're talking.

I think that could apply to most matchups.

I too hoped that Thaxton would have won, but the bout only confirmed my suspicion that Thaxton was well past his prime. I think a Khan bout would be pointless as he represents little to no threat at this stage in his career. I can see him being outworked and stopped in the middle to late rounds, I would much prefer Romanov bout as, although I would favour Khan, he would learn significantly more from the fight.

Do not get me wrong Khan would be my bet to beat Thaxton and pretty easily but due to the severity of Khan's defence, chin and style it would not be impossible for Thaxton to land a good punch on the kid.

Fighting Thaxton would be a backward step now. It would be ridulously so were he to do it after having beaten Romanov.

i posted this in july last year....and stand by it..

"why does everyone think thaxton is some kinda superman...im a fan, but he is a good domestic level fighter who never made it on the world stage.....i think khan should fight thaxton, he is gonna have to face much more dangerous foes on his way up if, indeed, he continues his rise to stardom.....he will fight thaxton in a totally different way than he approached limmond, and, i feel, will be succesful......too fast, too skilled......anyone who fights jon knows exactly what they are gonna get and if khan cant adapt his style to meet and beat these kinda fighters he has no place on the european, never mind world stage..."
