I wonder why Ward doesn't box anymore? He did that pretty well but in all his last fights, he gives a shot, then goes inside, headbutts and clinches, until he has enough. He makes a sign to the referee. Again and again.

In order to win, Bute would have to avoid the clinching with Ward. Ward is so strong in that department and Bute so weak... How can Bute do that? By moving and mostly by punishing Ward with some uppercuts of his own when Ward tries to go inside.

Bute knows that, Ward knows that. Both fighters will have other plans, because that's too obvious. The fighter who is able to impose his gameplan will probably win. I give the advantage to Bute, because he has the ability to finish the fight anytime. Ward has average power and is not a good finisher.

 

I actually like both fighters. If I had to choose at the moment, however, I would pick Bute by decision.

 

WTF has Lucian Bute done? Who has he beaten really.

Andre Ward has that great win over Mikkel Kessler, but Bute has nothing to compare to that.

Andre Ward all the way unless I see something from Lucian Bute to suggest otherwise. Until then, I'm thinking that he's massively overrated. He's no Joe Calzaghe.

the more I see Ward fight , the more I am convinced Bute will win...You are right....he has not done anything to indicate that...but I think Bute will take this one.

You're right, Bute is not Calzaghe. He is accurate and has great power.

 

Froch did an impressive job yesterday but I couldn't help noticing that the pace was very slow. It's not that Froch was so fast, it's more that Abraham was so slow. Against a fast southpaw, we know what Froch can look at times. Only difference is that Bute won't run, and has more power. Look at the last rounds of the Dirrell-Froch fight and imagine far worst. That's what the fight would like.

 

First-Ward is allowed to many illegal things in the ring. Excessive clinching headbutts elbows holding behind the head , If Bute want's to win is to appoint a ring referee who will keep the fight clean.
Second-Ward stay's at long range and mid range a good amount of time,Bute feels good at that distance.
Andre can't just rush in and grab him he needs to close in after ducking a punch or a combo thrown by his opponent or doing something himself Lucian who is a good counter-puncher can time him while coming in. It will not be easy for Ward to come in and not easy for Bute to brake out or to fight at close range.He will probably move a lot trying to leave Ward falling short on his punches.
Look at Ward's jab to the body ... :hey He better not be trowing that against Bute his head it's almost parallel with the canvas his chin is wide open for a left uppercut.
And look how Ward reacted to Bika's power... he didn't let his hands go as much as in his other fights. Was more inactive holding a tight guard, almost like his hands were glued to his head. Bute has power

Right now for me Froch is the top at 168 but .....he's better not fight like yesterday agains Bute, hes lucky that AA is a small guy, and Froch's defense is ****.

Who Bute beat? you should say who Ward beat (he beat kessler when the guy have eyes problems)
