Living in Ireland, I've watched both for a while now. Fury faught some strong opponants now and is looking to be closing in on a possible title shot, as he fights Chisora (spelled wrong?), whom was supposed to get a title shot earlier this year I believe. Mike Perez had faught nobodies for a while, before dominating the International Prizefighter tournament with two really quick KOs. Although the underdog, I think Perez would take it. Tyson Fury does not use his height too much, and looks for the power sometimes and is wreckless when he should be using the height and reach advantage more. Perez looks like Mike Tyson as he wrecked through the Pirzefighter tournament, and I think that he'd scare Tyson Fury in the first round, and KO him early on. Tyson is a strong guy though, and I could see him getting the KO over on Perez himself. Overall, Perez by KO. Thoughts?
Perez for me, Fury is very overrated imo and has terrible stamina iirc (not that he'd need stamina as he would be ko'd in 3 lol )
Fury is very good and I could see him challenging for a title and losing at some point, which is still a respectable enough thing. He just doesent have that wow factor yet. I was considering making Tyson Fury into Cristobal Arreola, but I think we need to see more from Perez and a higher level of opponant before we know if he can take Arreola's power.
Fury will come on leaps & bounds over the next few years. Even now I'd bet on a Fury KO & I thought Perez did well in PF.
They've sparred twice first time mike was heavy and not in training and fury handled him. Second time perez was in training and light and handled fury
I went with Perez stopping Tyson, I believe he is very effective against the taller man. He gets inside very effectively taking little damage, and once inside he opens up with solid banging shots. I don't believe Fury has the footwork or ring savvie to keep Perez off him.
Perez showed more of what he can do in the kerston Maxwell fight, he saw that he couldnt ko the man in just 3 rounds, and he used his boxing skills, perez was a world junior champion, so he defo has good boxing ability, ive seen a few comments where posters think he lacks movement in order to get inside. i disagree, ive seen him use good head and body movement from him. He can utilize it if he has to.
:think I'll admit that apart from Prizefighter I haven't seen a lot of Perez, I think the only other fight of his I watched was a 1st round blowout of a can. But to me Fury, despite his good size and strength isn't going to amount to much. Fatty McD was schooling him at times in their first fight and Fury was extremely fortunate to escape with his '0'. Fair play to him for taking care of business in the rematch but he's shown he's an extremely flawed fighter. There's a lot of room for improvement but I just don't rate him right now, and I think he loses to Chisora wherever the fight ends up happening. Perez seems to be a lot more naturally talented, had a better amateur pedigree, is much faster and has power to trouble him. I'd take The Rebel in under 6 rounds.
Unless Fury is in shape, using his footwork and range then Perez will be in and out, using his speed to land shots everywhere.
