I think Dawson would pull it off, just my opinion though.

Dawson, He would exploit the same advantages that Jermain Taylor did, not saying it is a walk in the park but I think Dawson wins 7-5 or 8-4.

    Bad Chad and comfortably.

Dawson is just a bad match up for any version of Bernard, he has all the attributes that Hopkins struggles with. speed, athleticism, slickness and with a little more workrate would be too much for old man Bhop and he knows it.

    Dawson UD.

And i think Hopkins knows this that is why he is avoiding the fight. Not saying he is scared of Dawson, but he is avoiding him.

Hopkins can't even beat Taylor who has all kinds of flaws in his game.

Dawson's too quick and negative. No way Hopkins has the legs to chase him all night, and Dawson will just potshot him with little shots constantly. Boring fight, Dawson wins.

If Dawson took the bait like he did in the first Johnson fight, he'd be made too look like an idiot and lose to a tough masterclass vet/spoiler. If he stuck to the game plan of the second Johnson fight with a little bit more snap on his punches, I don't like Hop's chances at all. Had you asked right after Hop/Pavlik, I'd have probably been blinded by the context of the performance and said Hopkins would ream him. But, no. 45 and Dawson would've always been a challenge if he fights right. I can't see it.

well hopkins trounced fresher versions of johnson and tarver! hopkins is too canny and would draw him into his game! counter punch after counter punch! to win a lacklustre, dirty, but close ud.

I think Chad would pot shot, get on his bicycle and stick and move his way to an easy 12 round decision. Bernards work rate is too low at this point.

Yup.Bernard is just too old at this point.Even though some debate that he deserved the nod over Taylor in the second,he couldn't even adjust well enough to clearly beat him.

I think both have styles that could trouble each other. Dawson by narrow decision.
