After some seriously ugly rounds and exchanges, Helenius finishes (no pun intended)...Arreola by TKO.
I don't think Helenius is ready for that fight just yet. Chris has more experience in big fights, regardless of rather he lost them, he's still young and seemingly getting into better shape. I'd like to see the fight, its almost a pick em at this point, but I'd give the edge to Arreola right now based on his experience in big fights.
If Arreola would in the shape of his life - a.k.a lean, mean Mexican Machete Machine, he could win via better work-rate and take the rounds or even chop the chips off Helenius and take him out. Helenius´s defence and foot-work isn´t world-class - yet and he let´s the opponent take the initiative way too easily. He seems to forget how to fight tall and relies on counter-punching. They are still developing Robbe´s punching power though and he picks his spots and angles pretty good. If Arreola would tire himself and slow the work-rate in the later rounds, Helenius would probably go for the kill. Arreola would be the type of fighter that Robbe´s accustomed to fight. I´d see more risk for him fighting someone like Chambers - fast, cunning and slick -fighting style. Helenius vs Arreola would be great though. I´d travel the world to see it (I root for Robbe and I´m also biased as hell).
Helenius looks like he can punch and hes a big heavy.. but im not really impressed with everythin else.... How his chin? We know Arreola has power and a chin... I agree with the poster that mentioned Arreolas expeience, seeing him in shape now makes me think he learned alot from the vitlai and Adamek fights and is gonna improve.... One thing you hav to admit is that Arreola throws great combos for a HW .. If he fulfills his potential he will be a major force in the division.. In shape and rejuvinated Arreola goes thru Helinius would be a hell of a fight though, dont know if hed ko him, as i dont know how Heleniius chin is but he will win... A fat out of shape Arreola is maybe a pickem fight with Helenius.
Actually for the exception of Klitchkos i kind of agree... Obviously a good portion of the Hw contenders are euro, but i dont see any one who looks like their gonna dominate... Any of the other euros are winnable fights for Arreola(epeciallyif hes in shape) Chambers and even Tony thompson.. The rest are either unproven or just not that good. Ill save my opinon on Haye for the moment, he is very fast, has talent and is a good puncher but i think hes chinny, we will find out soon. IF he has a chin though watch out. Povetkin- At one time looked like the best after the kllis, but seems to have lost an edge and beateable by some of the other contenders, WTF is Teddy atlas waiting for? Adamek-- Excellent cruiser.... But overrated at HW has llmited power, average chin at best (at Hw).. Hes an upset waiting to happen if he fights a top heavy with power and at least aveage skills. Arreola gets him in the rematch Helenius -Impressed with his power and is a big hw.. But not impressed with his skills a little raw. Boystov- Unproven.. Looks to have natural talent but from what iseen he can get reckless.. He will be a contender but no world beater. Dimitrenko- Bottom top 10 just a big dude with averages skills average power.. Wouldnt have made the top 10 in the 80s or 90s.. He would have been a steppingstone. Chageav- On his last legs.. Capable but nothing special.. never really was Valuev- Just big and lucky in lot of his decisions vs old guys Holy,Ruiz 2x.. Any hw with decent skills beats him. Ustinov--- havent seen him yet but i do know he hasnt fought anyone. I think Solis is more impressive than most of these guys.. TO bad we didnt get to find out how good he really is against Vitlai... Like Arreola if he loses weight he will be a force.
Even though im pissed at Chris's comments i agree with you. Such a shame that the level of activity and quality of match-ups over the past couple of years has been so poor. I think we would know a lot more about the names you mentioned. BTW Screw Povetkin
