Who would win Saul vs Manny at 154

I think people are confusing Canelo for Margarito. I just don't see any Manny Pacquiao having success against Canelo. A close to shot Erik Morales gave Manny fits. I see a prime Canelo doing much worse.

Alvarez. Not a fair comparison. Manny would be physically dwarfed by Saul and severely outmatched in terms of physical strength (same with Floyd, btw, a big reason Alvarez beats him.)

I don't think Floyd has an obligation to fight Alvarez. I only think he should if he doesn't vacate his WBA 154 pound belt. If he wants to say he's too small to fight Alvarez, well, he's probably right. But he shouldn't sit on a belt in Alvarez's division and not fight Saul (his biggest possible payday) while he's saying that.

 

Trout is also as big as Cinnamon. manny gives up many inches in height and reach as well as about 20 pounds in weight.

You better believe Canelo humiliates and retires manny. The current Canelo beats any version of manny decisively. Decisively. manny is too willing to trade.

Yeah I don't understand why people are confused. Margs and Canelo are extremely different fighters. Very, very, very different. The only thing they have in common is that their country of origin is Mexico.

Current Canelo sparks any version of manny in a very unfair matchup. For the *******s, I think current Canelo sparks Floyd also (although prime Floyd might move too much and get a decision). manny is okay with trading... which is a bad idea versus someone whose 20 pounds heavier, taller, has longer reach, and is considerably more powerful.

 

I'm withdrawing myself from this convo. If you think manny can cut-down range against Canelo as easily as he did against Margs, then we have zero to talk about it. You are very greatly underestimating/underrating Nelo's boxing ability (which Trout admittedly did too).

Canelo is Einstein relative to Margs boxing IQ. Canelo is far more powerful than the shot-to-**** Margs manny fought. Canelo is far bigger (height), smarter (uses his reach), stronger, and more athletic than Margs. Canelo repeatedly stunned and occasionally hurt a strong, undefeated 170 pound fighter coming off a career victory against Cotto (so his confidence was at a pinnacle). A much smaller, willing-to-trade 152 pound fighter is getting rocked. That can be Floyd or manny for that matter

Canelo is smarter than Margarito, then what is Pacquiao to Trout as an aggressor? There is no comparison, Manny is leagues above Trout in stamina, activity, mobility, probably even power at 154.

Canelo can move but he lacks the experience to integrate his offense into his defense. He's already very selective with his punches and Manny's offense would absolutely shock the kid. Edging Austin trout is an impressive feat but not an adequate enough accomplishment for beating an ATG offensive force like Manny.

People need to wake up from the delusion that any old fighter with a movement and a good right hand can replicate what Morales and Marquez have done. Newsflash, Bradley didn't actually win.

 

Manny from a couple years back definitely outboxes Canelo IMO.

 

Manny has a glass body. Canelo doesn't seem to have any trouble at landing on his opponent's body. I think Manny can overwhelm him with his speed and in and out style, but Canelo would catch and hurt him badly at some point during the fight. The problem is though, Canelo would still gas out at some point during the fight and Manny can definitely take advantage of that and hurt him too.

 

Don't know about now but people are forgetting how ****ing brutal manny pacquiao was 5 years ago. Manny has trouble against slick movers and technicians like Marquez and Bradley, but manny eats up and destroys stationary targets who want to trade with him.

Look at what happened to oscar delahoya, tko 8. Hatton, ko2. Cotto from a couple years back, knocked down twice, got his face rearranged and tkoed in 12, and margarito who was nearly 20 pounds bigger than pac and got his career ended via broken eye socket. all of these guys were rushed to the hospital after fighting pac, 3 of them got their careers ended.

Pac looks Bad against technicians like Marquez who can turn him and avoid his shots and throw quick counters, but canelo is nowhere near Marquez in terms of skill, speed, and experience. He's a 22 year old big kid who has a lot of power, but a very bad work rate, and slow prodding footwork. PAC from couple years back would tko canelo late, Pac today could outwork him if he fights smart and moves with his superior footwork.
Slugging with pacquiao is a bad idea........ And canelo ain't smart enough to outbox PAC the way Marquez did. And even Marquez was close to being ktfo himself.

I also think Pac can take canelos body shots. PAC took body shots from cotto and it didn't even faze him. Canelo is stronger but unless he lands a perfect punch on the chin like Marquez did, which I don't think canelo is smart enough to do, he ain't gonna ko Pacman.
