I think we all realise the massive talent these 2 men have in the noble art of 'event' boxing? But who would you pick in a potentially ATG great 'event' match up? Whose style would come out on top? :think
It's a close one, Chisora has more event wins but at a lower level than Solis, who holds a bid EVT1 over a previous event winner. I'll have to deliberate longer and view some more analysis before presenting my findings on this one?
Chisora ETV0 Baker by kissing him at the weigh-in (later went on to win the fight) Chisora EVT'd Paul Butlin by biting him, avoiding DQ and then winning the fight Solis is fresh off of a one round eventing of Vitlay in the EOTY 2011. I'd go for Solis to counter Chisora's attempts to jiggle his titties up and down by slipping it and countering with a breakdance/spinarooni combo to win the event
Ok cool i see you're reasoning here. I personally would like to see this event brew for a couple of years, like Klitschko-Haye, until it becomes big enough to capture every person in the world's imagination
See Solis won EVT1 but it's debatable whether he actually went for the event win at all, I mean he fought well but he's quite a quiet guy before and after the fight. Derek The Chisel Chisora on the other hand is made for event wins: He's a big dude, comes from a well-off Zimbabwean family, runs a car selling business(something like that), bites people, kisses people, asks "Is David Haye a Chisora fan, that's the real question?", agrees to fight Wlad TWICE and trains in Fort William in the Highlands(likely the only black man in the town). This is a man whose made a career of event winning. This content is protected This content is protected
Not close really. It's not hard to win the EVENT over fat slobs like Butlin and Baker, although Chisora deserves credit for his inventive ways of doing so. Solis's EVT1 win over VITLAY was not only more significant on the world stage but also a win over a former event winner - so a much tougher challenge.
True but I thibk VITLAY's event winning days were on the decline to be fair. I think Peter gave him a very good run for his money in his return fight with his clever, sophisticated performance
Deciding to show up horribly overweight and block punches with your face is a rather interesting, dedicated way to win an event
A good match-up IMO. The main question here is can Chisora's pre-fight swagger out do Solis' ring heroics. Its a tough pick but I'm saying Chisora steps it up by being knocked down whilst trying to kiss the ref. Chisora EVT2 Solis.
This really is a clash of the titans. My money would be on Chisora EVT0. Solis is a true EVT warrior but I can't ignore Chisora's EVT victories before the bell against Butlin, Baker and Wlad (x2).
What makes this fight so interesting is the element of the unknown with Chisora. If Wlad hadn't of flat out ducked two potential events against Chisora then we'd be far more equipped to speculate over who may win. This event needs to happen
What notable event wins does Wlad have though? He probably EVT 5 Brewster by getting drugged before the fight. What else?
