Pavlik would have this version of china chin Jones out of there like Johnson, and Tarver did 4 years ago.

The thing is Hopkins had the movement and skills to nullify pavliks jab, and cross. He simply moved across him. This version of Jones does not have the legs or defencive skills to do that. Sticking your hands up, playing peek a boo, and standing there like a human punch bag would be great for Pavlik.

:good true but even this version of roy is much faster than kelly,i could see roy landed straight rights&uppercuts on pavlik all night.

jones was more competetive and i reckon better than pavlik against hopkins. it was only a few weeks back but people have already forgot how truly shite he was

At 175 definitely Jones. Look... Roy could give the same movement Hopkins gave to get out of the range of the jab that sets up the right... I mean Pavlik did so well to force everybody inlc. Taylor to fight his fight, but it's masters we are talking about and Roy would disappear from the end of Kelly's punches just like Bernard did. Hopkins made a simple adjustment, to move to Pavlik's left, and Kelly was completely clueless what happened. Shocking how a tactic simple as that dismantled Pavlik's power shots, jab, right hand and punch output.

A stronger, younger, fresher but not as mobile fighter would have more trouble with Kelly, like Abraham or Kessler, since they'd have harder time to get out of range... but they are still good on the defense and counter-punching, so I guess not only the Hopkins way is the way to beat Pavlik.

As big as a physical force as Kelly is at 160, Roy is phyisically stronger at 175 with a bad style, so I don't see how Pavlik could win...

Yeah another 5 pounds from the Hopkins fight and Pavlik performs even worse. Jones has a tougher time than Hopkins but wins a snoozer.

What a great upset would it of been if these two fought and Jones had won before Hopkins beat Pavlik.
