Weaver by KO Ellis by KO Bugner UD Shulz UD Weaver - Ellis - Ellis close decision Bugner - Shulz - Bugner decision Final: Ellis wins by clode decision
I fancy either Morrison or Briggs in this. But to be fair a lot of those fights could play out unpredictibly.
If Morrison managed to play three good chess games (as he played one against Foreman) - he would win the tournament. But the probability that it would succeed is measured in parts per thousand, not percentages. So I would favor Briggs.
The winner of the semi final between Weaver v Ellis takes the tournament, with Ellis being the slight favourite for me
Should call this the dark horse tournament. You literally could make a case for every one of these guys to win. I wouldn't be shocked if Axel stayed on the outside outpointed everyone. I think Ellis was the most talented boxer but nit sure how his lack of size would hold up with Morrison and Briggs. Oleg and Weaver were too inconsistent to bet on in a tournament.
Weaver wins out Ellis wins out Briggs wins out Schulz wins out Weaver beats out Ellis Schulz beats out Briggs The final match would be a toss up, as I could favor either man in their prime. I personally believe that Schulz was an active enough fighter to be able to take a win over Weaver, and play the long game good without being rocked. He deserved the decision against Botha, and didn't flinch from Foreman or Moorer's power.
The winner would be Bugner solely because of the slots. A Weaver beats Maskaev B Ellis beats Morrison C Bugner beats Briggs D. Foster beats Schulz Ellis beats Weaver Bugner beats Foster (as this already happened so not a stretch) Bugner beats Ellis (again this has happened so not a stretch to imagine) Depending on who's vs. who in round 1 I could see Ellis winning it all though.
Morrison wins this imo. Weaver Morrison Briggs Schulz Morrison Briggs Morrison, fastest hands, best punch, awesome offensive fighter with heart. He would get it done
I go with Ellis. Weaver, Bugner, Schulz to get the first round wins, Bugner to make the final but as most of these guys erratic...
Not sure about Morrison having the fastest hands among them. Hardest punch - probably. But also second worst chin (after Maskaev), bad stamina and defense
My second choice would be Mike Weaver, but having watched a lot of Morrison I don't think anyone except Weaver would win. If Morrison decides to box like he boxed Foreman I think it's pretty clear for him but your observations are valid and true as well
