I would say Duran because he was so aggressive but when you think about it the Heavyweight division is in need of Ali more then the 135 - 147 lb divisions need Duran, I gotta go with Ali for that reason.
Ok you're so confident then start a thread on who would win H2H... Even the Mayweather fans would say Duran. :nut
Mayweathers tactic would probablly work for about 5-6 rounds, but Duran will **** him up in the late rounds.
You have the great man in your avatar, yet your knowledge of him is very suspect. Mayweather's tactics would not work for one single round. Have you seen Duran at lightweight? Did you see Mayweather-Castillo at lightweight? Have you seen Duran v Leonard I? We are comparing two completely different levels of fighter here. Duran would absolutely devour Mayweather, a domination ended by the referee in the mid-rounds.
I try to say that , Mayweather would probablly could run for 5 rounds from Duran, but than be caught.I'm shure he won't have chance, and if i have only 90 posts , doesnt mean i didn't watche boxing fights ,especially Duran's fights, or that i have less knwoladge about boxing then others.
I want to see Ali come in and beat the hell out of the HW division. At least the lower weight classes are pretty competitive and have some skilled guys - the HW division is just crap, and has been for the last 8-10 years or so.
i'm way bigger fan of Duran and personally i would much rather see a prime duran box however the heavy's are what attracts the casual fan to fights and if we had a charismatic skilled heavy like Ali around right now boxing would be the most popular sport in the world again.
Ali was the greater fighter in my estimation, but due to the heavies being below par, It'd be more intriguing to see how Duran contended with the 135 and 147lb fighters.
You said it would be a great fight and that Mayweather's tactics would work for 6 rounds. That is a clear implication that it would be close. I disagreed.
