Why does he constantly seek catchweights? They hate or approve of catchweights depending on what?

He doesn't most of the time. A lot of the catchweights were imposed on him. I think the only one he made happen was vs Chavez. He tried vs Golovkin, but it didn't work.

Depends on the reason. If one guy primarily fights at a higher division people are at times fine with making him come down a few pounds. Especially if it is a fight that just doesn't matter. Title fights people have a problem with being fought outside the weight limits of that title it seems.

If Estrada was prime I'd say him, but Berchelt is looking ready for a career takeoff right now.

Dude 2 guys in the same division fighting for no title 1lbs above division limit isn't a catchweight.

Only real catch weight you can argue is vs Chavez and even then Canelo moved up 2 divisions to make that fight.

I was basing my view on all the criticism I have read concerning Canelo preferring to fight at catchweights and had assumed that such viewes were based on Canelo's actual preference to fight at catch weights. I guess I was wrong in assuming that they were accurate in their statements.

I was chased by an infuriated Chihuahua when I was approx. 13 years old. They can have a very nasty disposition!

Can it include Mexican Americans (US citizens or legal US residents) or Mexicans residing in Mexico?

The issue isn't that he demanded 'catchweights'. Yes, it was only Chavez who he brought down to a catchweight, and that was fair enough because the fight wasn't going to get made at 168. The legitimate problem we had with him is that for three straight fights in Cotto, Khan, and Smith he cherry-picked significantly outsized opponents. And that during that time he refused to challenge or mention top fighters his own size, namely of course Golovkin.

I think it's Canelo (shoot me if you want). Canelo is technically an excellent fighter and tough as nails (as we will see in the GGG fight although i still think GGG will stop him late on) and achieved a great deal for a still young fighter. Most of the matchmaking issues / catchweight farces I believe are down to the **** that is DeLaHoya who is milking Canelo for all he is worth.
