Who would you favor to be Hearns at 147-154 over the last 15 years?

Tito could be hurt also and was hurt by Yori Boy, who is not a big guy. Hearns was 6-1 1/2 and Tito never fought a guy like that with speed with a right hand at welterweight. Ray did not land a typical left hook like Tito had, he landed an inside uppercut which is what got Tommy in trouble. Virgil Hill had a great counter left and couldn't touch Tommy. I doubt Tito could at welterweight. Big difference from SRL to Tito. Come on. Funny how you mention JCC and RJJ with SRL. RJJ did not fight the competition he should have to be in Ray's class. Neither did Chavez. Hearns will be remembered more than Roy Jones and will be remembered greater. Time will show this. The great superfights and legacy. Tommy came to fight and his resume is great, unlike Chavez which is lacking. I give RJJ credit for having good skills, but he did not have the guts to fight the top guys and that hurts him legacy wise. As for Tito, he was outclassed by Hopkins and Wright. He was overrated!

You can say guys like Hearns and Duran and Pryor who fought them all in great divisions are overrated. Doesn't mean it is the truth. Then guys like JCC and RJJ who you build up did not fight the best in weaker divisions, yet you say they would brutally KO the guys who did fight the best. Hearns whooped by ordinary fighters? Who? Hagler and Barkley. Hagler was a great southpaw middleweight and Iran had a bad style matchup for Hearns. The same bad style matchup Julio had with Frankie Randall. Same can be said of Chavez about the division. He was not the best lightweight and super lightweight of his era-Pernell was. Hearns beat some of the best guys of the last 30 years. Hagler was a strong middleweight also. I do admit that he should have taken on Spinks like the smaller guys fought him and moved up, he should have done the same. And the one thing I agree with is when you say Duran won because Ray fought the wrong fight. That is true since he could not stop Ray when Ray fought his inside fight, and then Duran quits right before Ray was going to knock him out. But Ray was a great fighter, and Hearns and Duran and Hagler were just as great. I think Hearns whole career is more impressive than Ray's.

Mayweather could not beat Hearns. Hearns would keep him on the end of the jab and then land the right hand and Mayweather would be stopped easily. Tito? Punchers chance, but Hearns was faster and would land his right before Tito landed his left. Remember, Hopkins could have turned on the heat earlier with Tito, he was waiting to land that right after he wore out Tito.

saying Hagler is overrated is ridiculous though. He fought Vito to a draw but then in the rematch destroyed him. Hamsho was a very tough guy and Hagler destroyed him twice. Tony Sibson was made to look like a club fighter. Hagler dominated him. Fully Obel. Hard punching tall guy. Hagler destroyed. Roldan. All these guys were good and could have been champ had Hagler not been there, but he beat them all. Hagler fights them all and is called overrated and then Jones ducks good fighters and he is said to be great. Subjective reasoning.

No need to put down Roy Jones in comparison with Hearns. Both will be remembered as greats, RJJ will most likely be remembered as the most gifted athlete ever to put on boxing gloves. He did fight many of the top guys, how many fighters in the 160 - 175 pound range would have beaten Toney, Hopkins and Hill with ease?

Hearns fought bigger stars, Roy Jones in his prime was more dominant. Two great fighters who will be remembered for a long time.

Read the original post dip****.... I said at 147-154. And he was TKOd one time by one of the best men to ever look at a damn boxing glove - in the 14th. One time in the ****in 14th by Sugar Ray Leonard!!! ****! Vulnerable? You're trying to make him look like ****in Amir Khan.

Now you wanna talk about people losing their damn minds??? Look at the JCC thread where you, of all people, act like it's a sin to say JCC was beaten by Sweet Pea.

Exactly. Jones was more dominant because he did not fight the competition Hearns did. Hearns never fought safety first fights. His attitude is he wanted to give the fans what they paid for. He actually exposed his chin for the fans. He could have sat back and used his jab like Roy and been a very boring fighter, but he didn't want to do that.

I don't favor any of these guys to beat Hearns at WW. Only Tito at JM. Tito, Oscar and Shane have a chance. That's it.

I would pick Hearns to beat all those guys as well as most welterweights and jr middleweights in boxing history.
