He's 41-0, but still has a lot to learn. So having him step into the ring with the likes of Martinez, Sturm...etc would be suicide. However, there are some other young fighters looking to put their names on a "Star-Watch" list also, along with some tough vets who have the ability to take Chavez Jr. go some round and see what his Heart is made of. So here is the Question:

"If Chavez Jr. fights 3 times in 2011...What Opponents would you like to see him fight?"

    For Me:

I would like to see Chavez Jr. begin the year with two Tough Vets who have both fought some Hot Young Prospect and made them GO ROUNDS and Both have n upset win on their records....Brian Vera and Ishe Smith. And I would love to see 2011 End with a fight between 2 HOT YOUNG FIGHTERS WITH A LOT OF ****ING BUZZ, FIGHT EACH OTHER: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs David Lemieux..GREAT ****ING FIGHT. And wouldn't be great if it was part of a STACKED-ASS Undercard in November or December of 2011, featuring:

    Chavez Jr. vs Lemiuex
    Rios vs Soto
    Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Arum will continue to milk the Chavez train for another fight or so, IMO.
2011 will prove to be a year in which Jr. will finally be tested tough.
    (Should he pass...)

With both Alvarez & Golden Boy watching close. (Should "Canelo" continue winning)
look for SEPT of 2012 to be a big date for those kids.

    Alvarez Vs. Chavez Jr.

I like your card, BUt only one seems foreseeable. (Rios Vs. Soto)

Well what weight class will he fight in?

If its 154 then Cotto, Canelo or K9 just to pick up a title

At 160 then Smith, Vera or Lemieux

I think Chavez will basically be protected until he gets a big name opponent for a big payday. It looked like Cotto might be that guy, and he still might, but not until the end of the year or early 2012. I don't have high expectations for his opponents for the first half of the year.
