He makes weight perfectly fine at 147, so why move up?

Voted for Williams. Both are champs and Williams was the last person to beat Margarito. I think most will agree that Margo is probably #1 in the division but if he does not avenge his lose to Williams, Williams will have a valid claim to be the best.

It should be in this order exactly

    1. Paul Williams rematch- I personally feel their first fight was a draw and it was too close to call to make out a clear winner

    2. If he gets past williams we will hear rumors about Mayweather coming out of retirement and thats an option for Margarito that he can't pass up.

    3. clottey-judah winner/ andre berto (if hes still champ and has some spectacular performance to build him up otherwise no go)

    4. A fight with Chavez Jr. after he gets more wins

Because Floyd Mayweather Jr is retired.

He is no longer a factor in the Welterweight division or in the sport period.

Paul Williams holds a belt at 147lb and was the last man to defeat Margarito. I say we get a rematch with Williams before even thinking about luring Mayweather out of his retirement.

    First face Oscar.

    Then a Paul Williams rematch.

Definitely Paul Williams should be next, but it is still unclear who will be next up for both men. If they meet, the unified welterweight title will be on the line.

However, there are two things that I need to address here.

    1. Would people agree that if Margo faces Williams, the fight would be a good indicator to see if he can perform well moving up to 154 and even middleweight?

    2. Why are people saying that WBC champ Andre Berto would give Margarito a good fight? What would be his strengths and weaknesses in a fight against Margarito?

I think PW & AM can fight at 154 or 147 and put on a good show. I wonder if PW really did get sent home in sparring.

I now want the Williams fight before any other. I'd like to see Cotto go and season himself some more (maybe a couple of intensly competetive fights) then fight Margo again.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the Williams thing at all. Williams handspeed and ability to take a punch at 147 made that one of the most boring Margarito fights I've ever seen. Williams will probably end his career at 175. This guy shows every indication of being well, well below his natural fighting weight. His hands were a blur in the Margarito fight. That was a very good night for Williams, I doubt he'll have another night quite like that one.
