Floyd was as good as it gets at Jnr Lightweight but like everyone who's ever fought he isn't unbeatable at this or any weight.

Of those previously mentioned I don't like Fenech's chances to be honest. The Nelson draw aside his record at 130 was poor and the 126 pound Fenech was a far better fighter on film and h2h IMO.

Some who would give Floyd a hard, hard fight though.

Sandy Saddler might not beat him but Floyd would have to fight his best fight ever at the weight to win. Saddler was better, tougher, smarter, dirtier and hit harder than anyone Floyd fought at this weight and Mayweather would have to work his arse off to survive let alone win.

Chavez is a huge chance to beat him. A complete technician with the requisite power, chin and mindset to do the job.

Armstrong deserves a shout out. An absolute boxing freak with an insane workrate, chin and toughness to throw even someone as technically superb and physically gifted as Floyd Mayweather completely out of his comfort zone.

Armstrong pressure would give him hell same with Fenech and Chavez, any of those three could beat him and Saddler would **** him up with his dirty tactics.

Would be fun to see floyd getting schooled by a man with an afro.

Whitaker would beat floyd at whatever weight they would meet at. He's just does more stuff better than floyd, and what he isn't better at, he's just as good at.

Chavez and Armstrong are my top choices. DLH wasn't the finished product at all at 130lbs, but has a shot because of the power he had at the weight. Camacho has a shot because of the speed he had at the weight.

As a dark horse candidate, I think Dundee's countering off the ropes style could drive Floyd up the wall until he managed to time him. It bothered Leonard when they fought all those no decisions, and Floyd's style at 130 mirrors the Ghetto Wizard a bit.

Greats who probably could have made 130 a push

Whitaker - he could probably make 130 and he's overall better than Floyd

Napoles - fighting as low as 1386 upto the age of 28, he's a pretty small guy. Mayweather gets the better outside, at mid range Napoles could pummel him

Other than that, someone who is a technically first rate pressure boxer who can stay in the pocket and force exchanges against his weaker punches nd makes him work at a higher pace that he doesn't like. So that comes down to:

Duran - maybe a bit young, if he can keep closing the gap and forcing the exchanges he gets the better of them most likely

Armstrong - maybe too small, Mayweather is 4 inches taller with such a longer reach and he'd have a field day on the outside. On the inside Armstrong may get ate up with uppercuts, this is a punch he's susceptable to

Chavez - obvious Castillo comparision, Castillo was a fair bit bigger/stronger though and was clearly beat second time. Chavez is much better

    Speedsters with chances:

Camacho - fastest ever, Mayweather is probably mentally stronger and a smarter boxer

Roger Mayweather - can match him for speed, maybe a better jab, allot of power, rangier.

Kid Chocolate - as skilled but too small/weak I think

Casamayor - tricky southpaw, but slower and smaller, Mayweather probably wins but not easily

Guzman - a poor man's Mayweather but he'd have his share of success and make Mayweather miss

    Overall boxer punchers

Arguello - the style just doesn't favour Arguello, but he always has a punchers chance of a come from he behind KO

Sanchez - Mayweather is better in most ways, makes far less mistake but Sanchez's workrate could maybe push him

In terms of being favourite, not many of those

    Nice post PP :good

Roger was quick but could not natch Floyd for speed,!punched too sparingly and didn't have the greatest chin.

At their respective bests at 130 Floyd would stop him IMO.

Lockridge? That's a different kettle of fish.

Henry Armstrong was as his best at that weight and would be on Mayweather's
inside and eventually wear him down...Floyd could only dodge a certain amount of bullets
thrown by a man that had a heartbeat of 44....

With Roger I thought it my resemble the Judah fight, there's a chance for an upset in that scenario

What do you think Lockridge's advantages are?

I'd take Arguello by KO. Arg was a great body puncher who would hit Floyd's body all night and then somewhere within 15, put across the finisher. At 130, Floyd wasn't the safety only guy he is now. I think the Castillo fight did that to him (I thought he lost it too). At 130, Arguello was THE best at that weight I ever saw. I also would like Tyrone Everett, Chacon potentially, and at his best at 130, Camacho. While not a fan of the style, the 130 Camacho was faster than Floyd I think, could crack and give better angles and pure boxing. At 130 I think he wins fairly big decision. But Arguello would hurt Floyd methinks.

I forgot Everett. I Would decline to pick him as I've only ever seen him against more beastly types (Vega & Escalera) but with his southpaw stance, movement and handspeed you'd think he'd give Floyd a serious workout.
