Not for punching power he isn't.

Here's a few milestones Uncle Rog' does have on Floyd despite being clearly the inferior operator:

Less fights to a super featherweight title

First fighter to win big four at super feather and light welter.

Far better level of competition :yep

Pretty horrid punch resistance though. And defensively, only flashes.

So the 'not a video game' analogy works even though he's done exactly that with his post?

Too many top level pressure fighters beating excellent counter punchers for this to be a completely proven formula.

Floyd could punch a little at 130. Not Roger type power but he could hit.

No one would be saying Floyd is going to hurt Chavez anyways but Floyd's offense is good enough to offset Chavez any time he looks to get set, and his style of defense IMO is enough to nullify Chavez' straight rights and body work while still staying a tad fleet, as his footwork was excellent at 130.

I would take Pea Whitaker H2H against any pressure fighter in the history of the sport. The same with PBF. They want you to bring pressure you're playing into their game plan. Especially PBF because he's a better counter puncher than Pea was. Pea Whitaker would beat any version of Chavez as well has that fought at 135 Chavez would have been cleanly beaten. Guys like PBF are bad match ups for Chavez. PBF is too fast too long has too fast reflexes and is too smart he would put it on Chavez in the middle of the ring the only time where Chavez would even look remotely good would be against the ropes. He would not be able to deal with PBF while he was boxing off his backfoot or in the middle of the ring. PBF has the hand speed countering length and footwork to neutralize and frustrate Chavez there.

Yeah I know pal. I tend to think things through before posting.

Imagine if it wasn't Augustus (admittedly out of 130) that was pressuring Floyd.

Let me guess 'Floyd let's people get close when he wants them to'?or 'he takes punches to entertain the fans and let them know he can take a punch'?

The one where he landed on Augustus at will and stopped him?

No you are.:good People like you underrate the hell out of things like defense and ring IQ and overrate things like offense and KO power. Good offense is usually always neutralized by good defense. Give me an elite defensive counter-puncher over and elite pressure fighter. Faster handspeed and better reflexes combined with the style frustrates the pressure fighter because they can't get to the defensive counter puncher like they want and they get out boxed. See Whitaker vs Chavez for reference.

Yeah. But a far better fighter? He wouldn't outclass them in those kinda' positions as much as we're use to seeing I bet.

His whole career has been moulded to make ******s think he's brilliant.

That's funny, 'cause as far as I know Chavez had a pretty solid defense, who gets underrated a lot, and great ring IQ. He's also patient and doesn't get discouraged or frustrated, even though he's losing the fight.

I don't think being pushed on the backfoot but dominating a fighter as good as Augustus is a bad thing. Augustus is arguably the most skilled guy Floyd faced and he should have a host of Ws over contenders and titlists.

Chavez is a stiffer challenge, it boils down to who you think would land the better stuff, if you think Chavez isn't getting significantly outlanded it is logical to think he gets the win. Very competitive for both men

Hey man! I never said it was a bad thing and I love Augustus (who doesn't) but is it that much of a stretch of the imagination to say 1. There are better operators than Augustus 2. They would have more success than him 3. Floyd would have less success against them?

If so, and none of this is aimed at you, why is he being painted as an infallible, unbeatable fighter who has faced a sufficient tehbical challenge to warrant him apparently dominating every great stylist of apl shapes and forms that have ever lived?

You used to be that bad. What happened, you're much more grounded on Floyd these days?
