I don't suppose many would have them on the top of their list of opponents to trade with either.:think

I don't rate Rocky against the post 70's guys as they were too big for his size and style for the most part .. it's like matching up jr. lightweights w middleweights .. to stop Rocky before then the best shots are :

    Joe Louis
    Sam Langford
    Sonny Liston

Dempsey, Wills and Fitz would be pick em's ...

A lot of heavyweights would stop Marciano. Several of them would destroy him quickly.

Marciano would not even fight at heavyweight today.
He would have problems with Kovalev at light heavy.

People in this forum act like size doesnt matter in boxing. Its true if the smaller man has a lot more talent. But what happens when the bigger man has talent too? Bigger man will win most of the time.

People must stop with the nostalgia.

So on one hand you say that he has one of the greatest chins in history and on the other you're saying at least 10 heavyweights would have knocked him out??

    No, he doesn't.

He was KD'd by a light heavy and an octogenarian. He never faced an elite heavy power puncherÂ… and don't bring up the shell of Joe Louis.

He never faced a modern heavy power puncher of elite status. His best opponents were in the 180-195 pound range.

McCall was getting pounded by 240 pounders on a regular basisÂ… and never went down, let alone getting floored by some old light heavies.

What is "butthurt"? Is that some clever slang? Is that really the best you can do?

Show me someone who is not a fan of Joe Louis and I will show you someone completely ignorant regarding the sport.

No one KD'd by sub-200 pounders is in the discussion of best Heavyweight chins. It should almost go without saying.

not true I have picked Holmes style-wise to beat many and give him a good chance to beat Foreman but the 2 best fighters Holmes fought beat him and he avoided the best fighters of his era and tough rematches in his era/career so to pick him to beat a relentless 2 fisted banger would be nothing more than speculation. He lost to the 2 best fighters he faced Spinks and Tyson even though he was past prime. I see Holmes having trouble with strong stamina relentless 2-fisted punchers with strong right hands and finishing ability

I think you''d be better off asking which CW could stop him. He's just too small to compete as a HW in every era following his own. How difficult was it to tie Rocky up on the inside?
I doubt he'd stop him but Holyfield vs Marciano would have been a fight for the ages.
Dempsey is an interesting one because they're similar size.
