Who would you pick to stop Marciano?

Sonny Liston would take out Marciano. A prime Sonny Liston.


Marciano is tailor made for a guy like Liston.

Joe Louis, prime Charles, Liston, Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Witherspoon, Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson and both Klits all have a great chance of stopping the Rock.

 

And Larry Holmes

 

Bummy, we also never saw Holmes fight anyone as small as Marciano .. the closest was Ocasio who was an inch taller, fifteen pounds heavier and had about seven inches in reach over Rocky ..

Juiced up Tyson was probably shorter than Marciano and had 2 inches in reach but he found that Holmes chin effectively and had wonderful results

 

Where is your evidence that Tyson was juiced in 88?

And Tyson was quick as lightning on his feet and with his hands while Marciano was a plodder in every sense. Almost complete opposites. Horrible a na logy.

 

Out of all the fighters there is absolutely no evidence that Tyson was juiced unless he started at 12 years of age .. he was basically thirty pounds of muscle stronger than Marciano, a proven much harder hitting two handed guy ( imagine Tyson hitting Don ****ell or Roland Lastarza ? ) and light years faster .. here's why you're viewed as a knowledgable but biased poster Bummy, be real please.

Part of the problem here, is that we don't know exactly how good Marciano's chin was, because he was never stopped.

We could say in general terms, that it was probably better than Joe Louis's, and worse than George Chuvalo's.

 

Tyson amateur Career was in the 200lb - division in the amateurs when he lost to Henry Tillman 2 X, he put on 15-20 lbs of muscle but the outbursts and crazy roid like behavior was not exhibited until later, Cus may have kept in under wraps. Also Marciano was a 15 round fighter and trained accordingly, he could stop you in round 13-15, Tyson only once stopped a man past 8rds (trial horse Ribalta)

When you are great in your era, you are great, we can only battle what is in front of us. I have to laugh at the Marciano undermining and the dismissive attitude due to his size Yet Langford is accepted despite being shorter and smaller than Rocky. IMO both men were freaks and could hit as hard as anyone.
