Who would you rank higher ATG Monzon or Calzaghe???

    Similar careers/fighters in some way...many have questioned their quality of opposition.. Both very smart, stayed in the same div for years, fought mostly outside of U.S.


    Monzon - Held title for 7 years, defended 14 times
    Beat ATGs Griffith, Napoles
    Resume includes Benvenuti, Briscoe, Ticati,
    Power in both hands, Iron chinned, ring smarts..

    Calzaghe - Held Title for over 10 years, defended over 20 times
    Beats ATGs BHOP, RJJ
    Notable wins..LAcy, Bika, Kessler, Eubanks
    great speed, good chin, ring smart

    Monson ranks higher, the fact that you included Bika in Calzaghe's resume speaks volumes.

    I like Joe but theres a difference between holding the WBO strap for 10 years fighting club fighters, than Holding the Middle weight title for 7.

    Look Im not a Calzaghe fan but your hatred for Joe will give you abreakdown..

    Give the man some respect...this is a legit question...Joe is an ATG and so in Monzon..It is not out of realm to compare the two

    Mate seriously, my opinion of Joe Calzaghe has nothing whatsoever to do with this, it's a ridiculous question. I don't think you know much or have seen much of Monzon to even ask this. Monzon is a lock for top 20 all-time p4p IMO and top 30 for anyone with a good knowledge, Calzaghe struggles to make top 100 or top 75. In any serious list, this would be verified. It is not legit at all. It's like me asking who was greater, Sugar Ray Leonard or Shane Mosley.

    BTW I rank Hagler higher than Monzon and RJJ higher than Joe...Calm down before you vote and think of both careers...If you are so incensed at the fact Im comparing Joe to Carlos..then ****in show me why??

    Top 20 lol now your getting carried away...this is not only resume this is H2h as well...Joe has the style to beat Monzon, he has incredibly fast hands...BTW the gap between Joe and Carlos is not as wide as SRL, SSM gap, who you kiddin:lol:

    I like Joe but his resume is lacking. The Kessler, Eubanks and Hopkins fights I'll give him credit for. However, he got by a 43 year old Hopkins by a nose, he would have been KO'd 4 or 5 years earlier.

    I wish they had fought in 2002, Calzaghe wouldn't have made the final bell.

    Instead of just trying to find new ways to debunk Calzaghes greatness why not explain to the uninitiated why Monzon to so far ahead of Calzaghe in your eyes.
