In Wales I think Calzaghe would beaten Hopkins of 2002 no contest. That was the first time Calzaghe had fought in that sort of climate in Vegas,it makes a huge difference.

The gap is definitely as wide. Monzon and Leonard must surely be ranked very closely in ATG terms, as would Calzaghe and Mosley be.

Thank you and I dont like Calzaghe...The only reason I did this is because in retrospect, Monzons resume if you know has come into question as well. Monzons biggest win was Nino...For arguments sake Ill say Joes BHOP..right there...makes this a legit comparison

I said to myself, self!! do a poll..because truly this maybe interesting, one fighter is being overrated and one being severely underrated..

Just the fact that he got by Hopkins by a nose all of a sudden dont prove anything?? Same Hop who took a legit Pavlik to school days later? Give credit to Joe, that was a legend he squeaked by.. Why dont you tell me why Monzons resume is not lacking:think

Carlos Monzon just fails to get into my top ten, only just.

Joe Calzaghe could only arguably be considered from 50 to 80.

    Thats your answer.

I see a wide margin legacy wise for Monzon. Calzaghe is a very good fighter but his resume just doesn't stack up against Monzon's. Monzon fought champions with deep resumes. World titlists like Napoles, Valdes, Griffith, Benvenuti. He defeated a resoundingly deep resume of excellent fighters in their primes. Licatta, Mundine, Tonna, Bouttier, Moyer, Aguilar, Fernandez, Briscoe, Bogs, etc.

Calzaghe's accomplishments are impressive but it gets thin too quickly.

Well we are agreeing to disagree then, cause I think Hopkins of 2002 wins no contest. Joe could barely do anything against an inactive Hopkins and got knocked down in the first.

Chimba, you clearly don't know dick about Monzon, which is part of the reason you rate him so low. You didn't even include his very best MW wins over Valdez as any part of his resume. You're just naming random names and obviously have little knowledge of his opposition.

    Monzon, to answer the question.

    Barely do anything??

he won...he made Hopkins look for more creative ways to even be able to survive the full 12 rds.It was like watching a footballer tryng to get someone sent off.I would be embarressed to show my face at the post press conference if I was Hopkins after that.

No sorry if it were in a cooler climate Calzaghe would have pushed Hopkins far harder and basically outwork him even harder
