Who would you rank higher ATG Monzon or Calzaghe???

Did you ever see a Rodrigo Valdez fight? He is one of the best fighters to come out of Columbia in its entire history. He's also one of the few people to ever knock Monzon down. He was winning that fight with Monzon until the inevitable relentless attack of Monzon eeked out a close decision.

I lived through the Monzon era. I was a huge fan of Tony Licata and witnessed his destruction at the hands of Monzon. I'd venture to say that after the top four names on Calzaghe's resume you get to fighters far worse than Licata and I don't even put him in the top ten of Monzon's accomplishments.

 

You show your ignorance here by assuming you know something about fighters you clearly don't. A Briscoe level fighter? Odd that he happened to beat Briscoe 3 times, once by stoppage then eh? Valdez was the best MW of the era outside of Monzon and Monzon's best challenger.

 

This thread must be a joke, Calzaghe easily gets the nod over Monzon.

 

Carlos Monzon is higher than Marvin Hagler and Pernell Whitaker on some lists.Calzaghe is comfortably behind Monzon.

 

Different levels. Monzon easily makes the top 25 all-time and is set inside my personal top 20. Calzaghe as of the moment deserves no higher placing than roughly 70 at best.
