    (((And was on steroids)))

Canelo, to me, looks like he rehydrates at 170, that's all.

Regardless of what he was on, and what Canelo has probably been on also, I was comparing sizes in relation to height.
Canelo is built at 5'8 like Tyson was at 5'10.
Absolute tank. 180 is not really a stretch.
Fact is cotto rehydrated to 155+ at 140, now he didn't put on that much muscle as he moved up but it's still safe to say he was 160 or a little more against Canelo but Canelo looked 2+ divisions bigger.

Geale was 180+ confirmed in the ring against cotto and Canelo looked bigger against him.

Canelo has an incredibly dense build

It's a good argument, but considering Layne's career is long over, while Canelo has atleast a few years in him yet, likely with some of his biggest fights, it's not entirely fair, Canelo will almost certainly achieve more than he has before retiring.

I'd avoid using triple brackets. It has a well known meaning amoung a certain group of unsavoury characters.

Neonazis use it to refer to jews. To be clear, it obviously wasn't your intention, I just thought I'd give you a heads up.

No, Canelo being (a multi-division) world champ does mean something. No, I don't see any reason to assume that Rex Layne would be a champion today.

Rex Layne's win over Ezzard Charles was convincing?? I must have missed something.

You'd rank Satterfeld as probably equal to GGG if not over? He's not even close. And Canelo has beaten several fighters who were more impressive than Satterfield.

Even your intentionally one-sided writeup doesn't make Canelo's loss(es) look as bad as Layne's.

Canelo Alvarez is a far greater fighter than Rex Layne.
