I voted Rahman, simply becauses hes the biggest, but I'd prefer a 6'4+ fighter like Valuev, Golota, Thompson.... Fighting Toney isnt a real HW fight because Toney is 5'9 and naturally not strong.
Witherspoon is coming off a TKO loss so he's not an acceptable choice. He could fight Eddie Chambers but I don't think he's in the top 10 at the moment.
Toney would be nice. Rahman is the plan though - he beat Lewis, with the no-decision he's undefeated since the Maskaev world title fight and ranked 8th by the WBC... it's a weak HW division so Rahman is a legitimate top15 contender. Maskaev would be nice too... But Toney would be the best - I just don't see that happening - he'd probably demand a huge payday to go to the UK... And Arreola won't risk his good rankings and undefeated record. So we can expect Rahman or Maskaev.
i did call a witherspoon fight for haye before the arreola fight as i new what kind of slow/lacking power/make haye look good heavy witherspoon was. haye as a heavy is still an unknown quantity and he should fight IMO 2 or 3 gimmee fights before stepping up. chambers is a fight i would definatley not recommend for team haye.
hmm be interesting to see him against tua, if tua still has that monsterous of a hook and if he hits haye with it, good bye
Arreola would make for a great bangfest, for as long as it lasted. It would be a perfect s&*t or get off the pot fight for Haye. If he's for real at HW, he wins convincingly. If he gets ktfo - which is the likely result - he can limp back to CW and reclaim his title.
Isn't Maskaev fighting is Russia in the coming months? If so then that would rule him out as Haye is fighting in november. Toney would be a good fight but with Toney's style i don't think Haye should fight him in his first fight back at heavyweight. A good second fight maybe? Rathman is a good choice. Good size and power to keep Haye on his toes and honest but past his prime enough to not give Haye many major problems for his first real test in the heavyweight division.
Well you can't roar like a loin and then go fight like a kitten. Haye would be the laughing stock of the boxing world if he fought Witherspoon. Absolutely no one would take him seriously, especially if somehow Witherspoon managed to last the distance or actually win.
Well thats an awful list to start with. All of them are old and past there prime. Whats makes this selection of opponents even worse is that the best fighter that may beat him started his career at MW!
Oh boy, chambers really showed us what he has in the povkin fight... I bet haye is really scared now....:yikes
