Pacman did, by beating barrera and morales. I think Pavlik should take this fight, because he'll get hyped big time for KOing a past his prime fighter like when pac KO'd past their prime barrera and morales. :hat

On the other hand, Hopkins won't be there in 18 months.

    How about this.

Pavlik fights Hopkins and wins. Williams, meanwhile, fights an actual middleweight. Say, Raymond Joval or somebody, and if he wins, he fights Pavlik. Then Pavlik fights Abraham, then moves up.

What's wrong with that for a peroid covering about 15 months?

    I agree.

I also scored his fight with Calzaghe to Joe by only a single point. Hopkins is still competitive at the highest level. If Pavlik fights him as part of a competitive schedule, that's fine. It's taking on fighters like Lockett that creates the problem.

With an avatar like yours you should be happy to see Pav Knock the stuffing out of B-Hop. It'll save your boy from worse treatment.

Another point. All this moving up and moving back down can't be good for Kelly's body. He should be fighting at middle weight. All this moving up and moving back down again is going to shorten the amount of time he will actually be able to make 160, shortening his riegn as a middle weight champion.

I wouldn't rule Abraham out, fair enough he isn't proven in America yet - but lets be honest, Pavlik is still a hype job at present, credit for beating Taylor and a weight drained Miranda, but after that - Lockett? Hardly top 10 P4P material is it? If he was a Euro fighter he wouldn't be given half the praise or hype.
Abraham is going to be a good test for him IMHO.

Imo. Hopkins is a very dangerous fighter. Very cunning and if he met Tarver tomorrow he would beat him easily. Hopkins still has it and will be very dangerous for Pavlik.

True. Except that we saw both in the Tarver fight and in the Calzaghe fight that Hopkins is perhaps the best preserved fighter ever in boxing history. And he gets smarter every time making up for a lot of the speed and stamina that he may have lost despite his superhuman lack of aging.

Therefore, it is a very dangerous fight for Pavlik.

Please no more Hopkins. Not because he isn't effective, because he is, but his fights are so tedious. Pavlick vrs. Williams would be a good fight, yah!

    Williams.

A fight against BHOp will be boring and he could possibly lose

ABRAHAM IS NOT ON PAVLIK'S LEVEL????... ARE YOU SERIOUS? ABRAHAM IS THE BIGGEST THREAT TO PAV OUT THERE. TO BE HONEST , WITH HIS DEFENSIVE AND ALL AROUND SKILLS I SEE AA WINNING THIS ONE EITHER BY LATE STOPPAGE OR UD.

hopkins..he would be a better test for pavlik rather than williams. Plus a win over b-hop depending on how he look might open the door to a possible calzaghe match up

    Exactly.

Why the Williams fight didn't happen is beyond me. I thought it would have been great to see how Williams would do against the middleweight champ.

Hopkins will do his best to make the fight look as shitty as humanly possible. And Pavlik will still win because Hopkins will fight only in spurts. As crafty as Hopkins is, he isn't fit for boxing anymore. He keeps fights close just by making them ugly. Same as John Ruiz.

Of course fight fans will eat this up because of Hopkins' name. But I would much rather have seen the Williams fight. Two young guys in their prime at the top >> this fight.
