Defo not any of the elder Mayweather's they are very hard to understand... unless we had subtitles. But for the sheer entertainment, I might take it. Maybe Lil' Floyd he might be good. I agree on Roy Jones Jr. tho, he was my fav commentator out of the bunch... he defo know's his **** and tells it like it is. Hopefully he ends his fighting career soon so he can come back to HBO Championship boxing and Steward can go back and McGirt (Ruin) fighter's.
Actually, I think Manny Steward is probably the best on the HBO cast, Shannon Briggs and Antonio Tarver are GREAT speakers, and I think ive heard them commentate, and remember them being very good. I hate Roy Jones, partly because his voice just annoys the **** out of me, its almost as bad as Chad Dawsons...
Roy reminds me of the Sugar Ray Leonard announcing day's... They both have that breif pause when they speak at the moment they attempt to get their point across.. I would have been interested to hear Roy's Call/Opinion on the Floyd Vs. Oscar fight.
I would get rid of Steward and bring in RJJ, to sit along Jim and Larry. Mayweather Sr. isn't a bad idea either, although I would prefer Roger.
Replace Steward with RJJ and I'm happy. In time Merchant could be replaced with Al Bernstein, that would be sweet as well even though I like Merchant a lot.
I would replace Lewis and put Tarver in his place, also can we finally get rid of gay ass Max Kellerman?
Oh yeah great call there. atsch Then we could listen to RJJ, and/or any Mayweather talk about themselves non stop. They could turn their backs to the fight and it would be the same non stop self love. Larry is getting too long in the tooth. He seems to over think to much nowadays. I like Max, Jim, and Manny. But hell I like Teddy Atlas also. Lennox Lewis was pretty good, so was big George. Freddy Roach would also be good, not a great talker, but he knows his stuff. As a rule of thumb former fighters, especially the good ones are horrible.
