Gotta go with the GGG-dog... Beat a decent Murray who may yet become a champion himself, albeit at a different weight, Monroe was an average at best win but his win over Lemieux to unify their belts is a very very solid win on his CV.

Money's win over the Pacman is better than any other single victory this year, but had he fought a Bradley or a Brook, I'd have given him the edge over GGG.

Anyone but the drug cheat Mayweather, getting roided up to run from an old injured Pacquiao doesn't make you fighter of the year.

    Has to be Floyd

He not only beat PAC but did it while severely dehydrated, the man was close to death and still pulled it off.

New face or not, he would have been destroyed by Lemieux had he been severely dehydrated. Try pulling it off if you're on your death bed 24hrs before the fight like Floyd did.

    Floyd FOTY

Not Floyd. The Pac win is tainted with roids, injuries, and being a ****ty inactive stinker of a fight. The Berto win is tainted because it was so far beneath him. Call me old fashioned but I think people actually have to be entertained and impressed by your performances to call you fighter of the year.

I like to see active fighters who fight three or four times that year, ones that give dominant performances and wow fans with knockouts. To that end, I think the fighters who entertained and impressed people the most were Golovkin and Gonzalez. Gonzalez fought 3 times this year and got 3 TKOs, 2 against very good opponents. Gennady Golovkin fought 3 times this year got 3 TKOs, 2 against good opponents.

I don't hold out much hope for Cotto, but if he somehow does beat Alvarez then holy ****! After his 4 round destruction of Geale this year, if he beats Alvarez, he needs to be very much in the conversation for fighter of the year.

Who had good wins this year? Tete beat Butler, Yamanaka beat Moreno, Santa Cruz beat Mares... You know Roman Martinez and Orlando Salido delivered not one but two action packed fights this year. Postol beat Matthysse. Jack beat Dirrell and Groves. Fonfara punked Chavez Jr. and had a great fight with Cleverly. Kovalev beat Pascal but then pretty much rested on his laurels. Glowacki dethroned Huck. And that's about it.

All those saying Floyd seem to be the same folk who have been calling Pac a bum for years so they must be really impressed with the win over journeyman plodder Berto :tired

No one really stands out. Maybe Cotto if he wins. If you ask the average joe, they might say Rousey.

Gotta go with GGG. Fought 3 times this year, lost maybe 2 rounds. Opponents had a combined record of 82-4(52), unified the WBA and IBF middleweight titles and became the WBC and lineal middleweight title.

Not sure anyone had a bigger year than that

I do think it could be Degale if he beats Bute. But really not one fighter this year had a strong break out year. If kovalev had fought Hopkins this year, it would be him. But that was a year ago now....

A case could be made for the top choices on this poll. I wouldn't pick Badou Jack though... He has an atrocious glass chin... He is on the TERRIBLE MANDIBLE TEAM.
