Its unlikely this will ever happen but what if Morales & Barrera had a 4th fight at LWT & never put on gloves again ?

Id say their rivalry would go down as the greatest in boxing history especially when you consider their history already.... 3 fights, 3 different weights.... that would become 4 fights, 4 different weights.

Anyway... I feel MAB has got much more left in the tank than EM at this stage & its possible he could even stop him but if they did have a 4th fight....

There`s only 1 man Id be rooting for.... Erik `El terrible` Morales.

Not a lot technically to choose between them which ever way you go but the more entertaining guy with the more heart & warriors mentality deserves his redemption if this fight ever happens IMO.

    :thumbsup

Two of my favorite fighters ever, I loved watching both of them fight. Personally I would like each man to come back just for a 4th fight, but nothing more. I doubt that the 4th fight will happen, and am almost positive that the winner (probably the loser too) would have more fights if they did fight one more time. Because of this, I would root for Barrera. Losing a wide UD in a fight where you had your moments against Pacquiao is a much better result than trading KD's, and losing a SD to David Diaz. Barrera can still hang with anyone but the absolute elite, I don't think EM can.

Also remember whenever Barrera stepped it up vs Pacquiao he actually seemed to be exposing Pacquiaos balance issues and having success but those moments where rare. Barreras fight with JMM was arguablly a win which of course is also more impressive then losing to Diaz who IMO flat sucks.

I think Barrera would be better equipped to defeat Morales at this point, even at lightweight. Morales is far removed from his prime, and has been less active than the great Barrera in the past few years.

I always felt there was little to choose between the two, but now that Morales is a "shot" fighter, I would favour Barrera to win on points. I think even a shot Morales has to much pride to let Barrera stop him.

It's tough to say. Robinson and LaMotta fought 5 times, and some fighters from even further back have fought eachother over 15 times.

Having said that, I already consider there rivalry the greatest in history given how they actually disliked one another. Their third fight reminded me of Manilla, two once great champions far removed from their prime fighting for maybe the last time as great fighters.

I feel it is unfair, even if I wasn't an avid Barrera fan, to say Morales had more heart. Nobody came back from defeat to prove his doubters wrong more times than Barrera, except for maybe Joe Louis. They both had great heart.
