I watched on HBO and their commentary was pro canelo though their unofficial scorecard had it 2 rounds to GGG
Was a very hard fight to score early but in my opinion Golovkin dominated 8-11. That means he’d only need 2 of them close early rounds to get a draw. Just how I saw it, but there was no way Golovkin was ever getting a decision there. Farce. It’s one of them fights were you wish it was still 15 rounds because I think Golovkin would have stopped him if it was, he was coming on far stronger and Canelo was beginning to slow down and be backed up.
A 2nd win for GGG last night against PED Can regardless of the scorecards in the 2 fights - we all know the reason!!!! Think my prediction of another stinker was closer to the mark than an explosive fight.
Absolutely spot on mate - we all knew before the 1st fight that there was no way he was getting the decision so same last night
Makes you wonder in fights were there’s huge controversy regarding score cards why the hell aren’t they forced to be in a different country for a rematch. Somewhere neutral. On the general forum you can see what fans think of the decision, there’s a poll and 70 percent have voted saying GGG won and that’s with 9 percent saying draw.
I feel sorry for golovkin he definitely won that!...another cracking fight ruined by inept judging. I wish ggg refused the rematch tbh because he was always losing his belts here.
Draw or 115-113 either way. Great fight. BT Sport were on crack the way they were going on like GGG was about 4 rounds up at the end, he clearly wasn't. Then they screamed robbery, it just wasn't like that. I desperately wanted GGG to win but could not ignore the great work Canelo was doing.
I watched the yank commentary and they were all for Canelo. I was worried half way through Canelo was doing the more eye catching shots up until that point despite many hitting gloves. Golovkin was also looking old and blowing. But even during this time Golovkin was landing over and over with the jab which counts for an awful lot. The second half of the fight GGG found his rhythm and won at bare minimum 4 rounds and easily in my opinion. Most people agree that GGG almost dominated the second half of the fight so surely he’d only have to win a couple (at most) of them early extremely close rounds that could go either way to claim a draw or even win. I’m not mad on the punch stats but after all even in them early rounds GGG was landing more and throwing more.
Exactly what I found. I streamed it at work ,hbo until I lost the stream & then BT which had canelo "in trouble " with every jab. They acknowledged pretty much nothing Canelo did well. Narrative was set before it began. Reminded me a little of Jim watt during Froch Groves 1
