I did not mean to imply that Pavlik was unskilled but he basically used simple punch combination against Taylor and just kept coming forward untill he eventually KO Taylor. My thinking is that Froch's decent chin will allow him to take a few hits in order to land his own big shots and Taylor will break mentally in the later rounds and Froch will stop him. Taylor has the ability to box on the outside and avoid any scrappy and risky exchanges but his ego and lack of discipline wont allow him.
I don't know enough about Froch to make a good decision, but I give Taylor a slight edge. If Froch uses lots of pressure like Pavlik, he could win this fight.
Will be extremely difficult for Froch to win a decision in America. The judges and referee will be on Taylor's side. Froch needs to put pressure on Taylor like Pavlik and never stop punching.
Based on what? His close fights with Bernard Hopkins, Kelly Pavlik and Winky Wright - 3 proven world class fighters and 2 all time greats! Carl's best past opponent is Jean Pascal - is Pascal even genuine world class? :hi:
Im hoping Froch can win but to be honest, Taylor should be able to get a decision. Froch is too easy to hit, and i don't believe his power is all that great, but he is hungry and Taylor was lazy against Lacy, a bad combination for Taylor. I will go with Taylor SD in a controversial fight.
Regardless of who you think won those fights. Having close fights against Hopkins and Wright hardly makes you an ordinary fighter.
I just realized that if you replace the name Froch with Margarito, Taylor with Mosley and Lacy with Mayorga. This post would be an exact copy of what most people were saying before the Margarito-Mosley fight. Not that I think Taylor will destroy Froch like Mosley destroyed Margarito. But the similarities are undeniable.
