Who you like better, Roy Jones or James Toney?

With his build I'd take an educated guess that he is, I'd say nearly all HWs are pretty much at it though

 

SNV is all natural talent though.

 

I liked Toney a lot when he was a young, hungry middleweight/super middleweight. He talked smack and all, but he could back it up.
Now, he's just a sad, fat old man and a waste of time. His smack talk means nothing.

Jones seems alright to me. I was never really a fan, but he could be fun to watch sometimes and his personality seems okay.
He should have been more ambitious in the sense that there were fights he could have taken and did not, so he deserves the Reluctant Roy tag, imo.

If pushed, I suppose I'd prefer Roy more, but I don't have especially strong opinions on either.

 

They both are pretty good.

Tarver talks better.

Roy's more interesting for me.

 

Did Toney ever commentated a fight?

I read somewhere he did but still not quite sure.

 

I adore James Toney, whereas I only really like Roy Jones, so it's Toney for me. He has become a bit of a slurring joke in recent years, but that doesn't negate all that went before.

 

Actually personally both guys are really cool. Toney of course likes to talk trash but he seems to always be talking trash. Jones is more of a laid back kind of guy.

As far as styles, I enjoy the style of Toney more. Nothing like a guy standing in the pocket slipping punches and throwing short shots. It makes for more of an exciting fight.

 

2 best commentators hands down, Foreman was quality but I think did cheerlead at times, HBO need a boxer commentating. Steward I don't rate as highly

I'd like to know the answer to that, I'd watch for the commentary

 

Who do I like better? I'm neutral. Both have big swag in their both ways. When Roy was lyrically assassinating Hopkins it was epic- '60/40 and I tax that ass!'

Toney is scouse too, turning up with a gut and all that, and his trash talk is ok, but not as good as Jones, because Jones doesn't need to go below the belt to spit fire.

 

how they fight rarely plays a part in who I actually like. I love Duran, but it's because he's an icon to me, not because of his ability. For instance, Whitaker and Leonard I love as fighters, but I'm not a fan of them or anything like that.

I love Chisora, I don't care for him as a fighter, but I love him, I want him and Don Charles to record a rap album.

 

Toney would make a horrible commentator. Hes harder to understand than Fred Sanford.

 

Amir Khan is a really bad commentator, and that's a fighter I do like.

 

Toney was the better actor. Wasnt he in the movie, Ali. Not sure if he was Frazier or was it Bundini Brown hmmm..?
